  1. Hi Deano,

The bloke you want to speak to is called UK Neil. He will machine you one to the diameter of your barrel. His work is second to none, and from my experience as quiet or quieter than the other silencers out there! I will soon have one on its way to my R10 when funds allow!

Drop me a PM if you want his number.

    Kind Regards,

    Mikey.

Ok mate cheers, I think your message inbox must be full as private message will not send and says you cant recieve any more messages at this time ?

  2. Just removed the front muzzle weight / open sight tip after some brilliant advise to use a hot hair dryer to warm up and twist off and it worked a treat thanks guys as all the gunshops said oooooh thats a specialist job for gunsmith mmm I think not  .

I know the use of silencers on recoiling springers isnt brilliant because of the main piston noise can be worse but having said that I have to say this gun is surprisingly quiet action wise but does give a little muzzle crack as they all do.

I had a slim line silencer on my old weihrauch hw80 and hw95 and they were very usefull ad effective especially for the rabbits down range which stayed around after a shot where as without silencer were off instantly.

This gun is a Stoeger x20 and is very accurate out to 40 yrds putting out around 11.2 - 11.5 ft lb and the stock just stained beech is very good quality and has nice checkering on and has put plenty of quarry in the bag, Im looking for a push on multi baffled silencer if poss or would consider an adapter to take certain types and would even like the end threaded if not too expensive ? The barrel dia measures 15.4mm thick and I know there are various types that would suit including the webley pro system which does 14- 16mm barrels.

Its mostly just a personal preference to have one and like the look of one as opposed to without plus in the woods I noticed even with my other springers not everything will scatter once you take a shot but it will without a silencer on, any help much apprciated......Deano :)

  3. IM after a green laser preferably with ajustable turrets instead of allen screws for adjustment to use with my current scope green being easily seen during daylight as opposed to red which I had before.....I have looked all over every website but they mostly red or if green illegal in this country due to their power :wallbash:

And the only legal I have seen so far are bsa type but dot size at my zeroing distance is so big the dot will swamp the tiny 10 to 20mm dot im aiming at :wallbash: :wallbash: being a good few inches at 30 yrds and nearer 5 or 6 inches at 100 yards which i very annoying as my last laser was red and from bsa and very small dot size at my zero???

  4. You guys are the best this forum rocks  its off lol   and to think all the shops I rang said ooooooh thats a specialist job for our gunsmith we can do it but you'll be looking at 4 - 6 weeks as he very busy ???

One even said push a piece of bluetack in end to seal it and dip whole end it boiling water errrrrrrrrrr no thanks thats a sure recipe for ever forming rust

Anyway now for a silencer the barrel is 15.4mm dia would I be best with a push on grub screw type webley pro system which does 14 to 16mm barrels or an adapter to take a threaded one or what would be cost of a thread cut on the end ? any idea's much appreciated :)

  5. I recently got a place I metal detect on but with thousands of rabbits too and if you dressed in cammo with a gun their gone in seconds but in ordinary clothes or armed with a metal detector they are litterally running round you in circles 20 ft away chasing each other as they are used to seeing people on horses, feeding horses and generally working on the land daily, I used this trick by having gun too and when I bend down to dig a target from detector I wait till one shows as their warren streches out from woods to open field too then when they think its ok he's digging more rubbish whack....over they go.

This one was no more than 15 ft away whilst I walked with my metal detector and did'nt run even whilst I fumbled to get my phone out to take pic...It was only till I could of been 5 ft away then it only ran a few paces then stopped to carry on munching a few yards on they re mad here but sometimes to easy for a challenge

  6. I finished this multiplex frame today which was an old drawer front and all hand finished with few basic tools and sandpaper :) I was going to engrave a pic of a rabbit on it but I practiced on a peice of scrap wood and it looked .....well rubbish is the word

In the end I found rabbit a pic on the net made it smaller and used tracing paper held over screen and copied in pencil then did the old trick from school turned the pic over placed on the frame in position wanted then rubbed the pic all over hard with the pencil the result was the pic of running rabbit was perfectly applied to the frame in pencil then I went over with a fine line permanant CD marker then signed and dated the side and applied varnish, im quite happy with it and have a set of Gamekeeper thera bands from John to fit then will give it a go :)

nice cats. do you sell them. ill be lookin for one come september

No not really just made a couple for myself but if you visit slingshotforum.com you will see lists of catapult dealers and checkout Gamekeeper catapults as I have one of those I bought recently and can vouch for there quality and shootability

  8. Fold a piece of A4 paper and draw your design over by the folded side but just draw half the handle and one side of the frame then cut out with scissors and open out ........a full shaped catapult template ready to go then i had a jigsaw fitted with a hacksaw blade its slow through the wood but leaves the edges smooth and perfect then just sand smooth file or sand the edges with slight bevel job done.

I drilled the bottom hole with a flat 25mm hole cutter bit but not all way through with the compass one as it sits inside just below surface ....hope that helps

Ps the template and design was just from memory and drawn free hand but remember draw half on foldd side then cut out and open up it will be ok, and those compasses available on e-bay or just google compasses they come in all shapes and sizes they look pretty good and is different

  9. I made these 2 catapults today because I was so bored, the wood is some sort of dark hardwood 16mm thick which has a 1 mm veneer on one side as it came from an old dressing table....

I jigsawed the main shape out and used files rasps and sandpaper to finish, they just need the tops shortened and grooved and finished.

I thought it would look good to fit a 25mm compass on one which I had it looked pretty dam good but is only a tester but I lik em for first attemp

  10. Just wondered if anyone takes a slingshot with them when shooting, I used to have one as a kid and was pleased as punch when I took a collared dove full in the chest with one

I noticed this man on youtube and just think its brilliant he never misses and also dont aim as such just looks at what he shooting and not aiming catapult, and his brain and eye coordination do the rest.

    Love it.....:clapping:

  11. you have to change the valving system as all pre-charged now by law have to be regulated and anti tamper proof

I'd really like to see that "law". To my knowledge no law or legislation has ever been made concerning anti tamper EVER.

Also - if you go and buy a brand new stealth they are NOT regulated - again no law or legislation has ever been made concerning this.

It's sad that these lies are proliferated by people who know not one jot of what they are talking about - it does more harm than good!

    Please prove me wrong.

It was the director of gunpower that said he has to attend meetings etc with government and they were told to regulate it so anyone buying one cannot up its power, now all their new ones and mine because I have one of the new valves is regulated........the old ones used to go from legal to up to 14-16ft lbs just by undoing the top hat valve end a couple of turns, if you do this on new ones they still only put out correct amount of air and still under legal limit as valve is regulated itself inside so no chance of messing with it call Geoff at Gunpower ( he the main man )on 01233 642357 he'll explain all ...........

  12. all i know i that the old style valves on their first models were faulty and if the top hat shaped valve end unscrewed the power went up between 14 and 18 ft lbs but the goverment said to gunpower you have to change the valving system as all pre-charged now by law have to be regulated and anti tamper proof, so in 2009 i think they changed the valves to an all in one regulated type which if the top hat unscrewed slightly or a more powerful hammer spring was inserted it still only lets through the correct amount of air for each shot it never goes over the setting. Like any gun the capacity of buddy bottle varies from caliber to caliber hence .177 needs more air to give 12ft lbs so the air is lost with less pellets but gunpower said this is true also of .20 cal but still holds 350 to 450 shots and a new stealth have been tested with certain pellets to do over 500 shots on a full charge, the new barrel was between £100 and £115 and then on top the fitting fee's etc and these barrels are high quality lothar walther match grade barrels and capable of very tight grouping at 30/40 yards and out to 60 yards which when considering the barrels are only 12" long isnt bad at all. these guns sold gun only still fetch between £250 and £280 even the old first versions but if i sold gun only i will leave scope on which is new and was £70 alone plus this has new barrel which cost me £100 or so plus fitting and new valve to suit this caliber i have receipt somewhere i,ll try to dig out but will not go lower than £300 for gun only with scope but also you will be getting silencer which are sold seperate and alone are £40 otherwise i will keep for time being

  13. Gunpower stealth for sale good condition owned by me from new, new hawke 3-9x50 parallax adjustable, red and green illuminated mildot reticle, silencer, old-ish BSA red dot laser, new .20 cal barrel but still have the original .22 one should you wanna change back, new regulated valve on buddy bottle, which holds approx 350-450 shots in .20 cal more in .22.

I have also got a brand new high pressure styrup pump used twice and a brand new f-1 chrony complete with rods and diffusers.

It is currently covered in realtree vinyl cammo tape but this is easily removed and leaves no goo behind or i can remove if you prefer, plus it protects from damp and knocks.

The whole package including the styrup, chrony, barrel servicing valve etc set me back £950-£1000

will accept £480ovno for the lot as i give up shooting due to new hobby...metal detecting

As my only pre- charged and only gun left I have no use for styrup or chrony so would prefer the lot to go in one package if poss

This gun is deadly accurate and with the laser used in conjuction with scope helps as a range finder and gives a good idea where to place the cross hair head shots are acheived everytime with this on pigeons, squirrels and rabbits, and is very quiet and on a full 200 bar charge after 100 or so pellets will still leave a mass of air in clylinder which can be topped back up in no time with styrup pump, and has the potential to go up to 30 ft lbs if you have a F.A.C. certificate, but is currently running just below 12 ft lbs legal limit....Cheers Deano

  14. i even get woodies collared doves to my bird table but don,t shoot them, i like watching them stuff their faces with food and it gives you a good idea about what they like and dislike and you get to see their habits and learn even more about them, i also get robins, dunnocks, blue and great tits, sparrows, starlings, greenfinches and many more and recently even had a sparrow hawk fly low over the garden checking out the small birds on table, what gets up my nose is the rspb and rspca look down their noses at people who shoot pest species cos they absolutely hate it, but they don,t see that we all shoot pest species for eating or because of the damage they do to crops or other birds, but we also love having wild birds in the garden not definately not to shoot at, but to feed and watch, i put up bird nesting boxes too but had no residents since last year which were 9 baby blue tits and i even saved the last one to fledge about 6 times where it could,nt seem to fly well and kept sitting on the ground calling parents so i put it in a high, ish tree loads of times as the neighbours all have cats it went in the end hopefully off with the others and not inside a cat........but even the general public hate shooting as they see rabbits, squirrels as cute and fluffy but they would all have a go at you given half a chance.

i once had it happen by a dog walker whilst ferreting as i had 3 rabbits dead on the ground and i was called all the names going but i thought no f**k you and gave back as good as i got saying do you eat meat her reply was yes but its from the supermarket :wallbash: i said oh so its fine for someone to kill your chicken for you her reply but thats different i said how is it all thats different is that someone killed it for you but you still eat it ...then i said so you give the supermarket manager the same abuse as me then cos he knows the killer she said no and went quiet then her husband showed up and appologised..............some people have no idea

  15. good shooting! beautiful jay, i leave them alone on ym shoot as there are plenty of songbirds and i dont feel any need to shoot them.

Hi bud. maybe i did,ant read it right.Did you say you would rarer shoot the songbirds than the jay.atb. Catcher.

no mate....never shoot songbirds only the pest species but i don,t shoot them often only if one presents itself like the jay did........i would,nt dream of shooting a song bird as i love watching them i just spent a fortune this weekend on fat balls, wild bird seed, peanuts, mealworms as i have lots of little visitors to my bird table at home ........sorry if i came over the wrong way

  16. jays are usually very warey birds but this one was,nt at all i don,t usually shoot them very often...people say they are pests but rarely are, but having said that i don,t often see how many songbirds eggs and chicks they wipe out it could be hundreds or it could be no more than a few per year but even squirrels will eat birds eggs given half the chance, but they do do damage to trees etc...have had a fair few squirrels this year but last year over 100 from a twenty acre wood and now days squirrel is on the restuarant menu,s big time some people pay a fortune for squirrel meat i have tried them many times and have to say are very nice, but there is,nt much meat on them once skinned, but either way they never go to waste as dog gets em if i don,t

  17. a weird thing happened this morning in the woods i shot 2 squirrels but the second one as it fell to the ground had a jay fly down and start pecking at it as soon as it hit the floor i watched through scope after reloading and it just kept on screeching and pecking at the squirrel so i managed to bag him too and then noticed overhead magpies more jays and crows all screeming the noise was unbareable they were all circling and screeching overhead is this cos they hate having one of their own taken ?
