Is there reds near brampton do you know? I'm working on a 1500 acre farm, just wondering what the likelihood of deer being there would be? Its fringed with forestry as well.

Just wondering if anyone could tell me what the deer situation is like in cumbria? I'm moving down in the new year to a place near Brampton and have no idea what the deer situation is like around that area? Leaving behind 1,000 acres of roe stalking in Scotland so hoping there will be a few around! Any info would be great. Cheers.

Surely if you have already received your firearms certificate you should know which rifle to use for fox/rabbit. Whch calibres do you have specified on your certificate?

Not all those rifle men are as accurate as it seems ,have come across some awful messes out there, at least with a dog it get away cleanly or not,, Sorry if it seemed like I was having a go at dog men! In no way was I trying to generalise. Theres idiots in all fieldsports, just as many if not more are shot by riflemen with sub .22s I'm sure. Wasn't meant as a dig at all.

I don't think cabelas ship straight to the u.k. Go on ebay.com- you can get most stuff on there and dodge the tax bill! I got a pair of meindl cabelas hunting boots for $24 rr $299!

Around 40-50 kilos is just an average sort of size boar, they are usually a lot smaller than domestic pigs, can you get any photos of them? Are you shooting form a highseat or stalking them? Did you have much trouble getting wild boar on your firearms certificate? What calibre are you using? dont know if this picture will work but this is what a 40 kil ish boar looks like dead!

Saw a few pics of rough shooting on this section so thought I'd go for a wander round a few farms with the old O/U 12g and had a pretty decent day of it. sorry for the poor quality can't figure out why its so bad. Theres 4 rabbits and 7 pheasants

If only i'd seen this sooner! Amazing off roaders these, I got a dirt cheap insurance quote as well, I'm 20 and they qouted me £700! Compared to £1100 for my vitara! Gutted!
