    Do any of you use filters on the lamp. I've got a Deben Tracer. Got Blue, Green, Amber and Red. Cheers if its a pup ye are brinnging on mate, get the pup out without a filter, let it learn on white light.... after ye have lamped the area a few times an bunnys seem shy, then try a filter, i always used red, but have recently got meself an amber an its even better than red

    keep her on a lead should be in control of yer dog at all times, if ye know its gonna jump up at folk, dont let it

    like has been said, lamp the rabbits for the dog, pick the rabbits furthest from cover, as yer dog is up there arse so to speak, an the bunny is heading for the fence or wall in quick style, gee the lamp a wee shake

    we have that many stoats here its normal to stumble upon 20 kills a year, while they are happening.... obviously i know stoats eat a lot more than the stuff i catch them killing, but i gotta say i seen about 50 stoat kills in last couple a years an its always bunnys they seem to be catching..... i like stoats, i can watch them for hours, but i understand they need controlled an have had a few wae terriers an lurchers while mooching, but as i say i think they are cracking wee animals... ill be watchin this thread to see what you keepers make a them

    evry one always dances round this question,,, no rabbits round me 3 is a good night,,,, fecks sake get out find some , and test ya dog. in my opinion a fit , experianced rabbit lamping lurcher, on a a very windy night , on very good rabbit ground,,, should be able to put 25 in the bag 35- 40 is a good dog............ if ya dog can do more... then its very good. but of course some places are esier to catch rabbits than other places, catching down here in the midlands on rolled winter wheat with no hedges is very hard and your ratio's go down

    Those first 2 lines and last line are spot on DNA testing? tells you their relatives(parents and siblings)full stop, it cant tell you its a domestic polecat or a wild eu polecat as a parent. Y.I.S Leeview Correct, DNA test don't work as they are so genetically similar (hybrids and pures that is). And as all ferrets are effectively polecat-hybrids. . . . . i stand corrected
