    I,M with u One this one ICEMAN, get no pleasure or sport from killing for the sake of it. We look after 5 farms and 1 of them is 3 and half thousand acres!!! But all the landowners know that we stop with dogs and ferrets end o feb begin o march or when we get first milky doe. To say they will lose permission if they don't hunt all year round is telling me that they haven't done a proper job in the 6 months. Simple as !!!!!

    Went again today, had a walk round orchard dogs never marked 1st 5 earths on close inspection they were all flooded, so we decided to take a look at a hedgerow than we haven't touched this year. Walking through orchard, toward hedge, dogs marked a 20-30 holer, most holes flooded but thought sod it do it any way.netted about 10 holes left the rest with the water laying there, bang one in the bag. picked up and lo and behold dogs pissed off again, they always seem to have the first hour as their own private mooch.     Spot on that taff, we had same problem with hoppers, so use both together. Get a 50 yd longnet cut some hazel and away you go, try that first and if all goes well you can convert to a quick set and its cheaper. Just a tip but make sure that after setting it out, you collect in, in the right manner or you'll have a hell of a job with twists and knots but good luck and good hunting mate. ATB

    try a beddy/whippet mate, but you will find that most dogs will be protective and good guard dogs.

    Quite simple really Max, why stand around for half an hour whilst your ferret try's to move a stubborn bunny from a blockend which could be shifted from a 2 minute dig? Why stand around waiting whilst a ferret is laid up on a kill, or leaving a kill behind and finally emerging, which could be dug out easily? (what was the point in ferreting in the first place if your leaving kills below ground for no reason.)     Popped out today for a few hours, thought i'd stay close to home so went to a wood that i do bout 2-3 times a year. Cos i'd done bout 4 times this year didn't expect to get much. How wrong was I, it seems the ole bunnies are back in there and in force. Walked across a field toward the wood and suddenly Missy shot off like a bullet next thing, heard a squeal, nice 1, 1 in the bag. Any ways only done 8 earths and got 12 rabbits, 1 half grown, 1 mixie. Dogs still marking up when i decided to pack up. Next trip weds me thinks, keep u posted.
