  4. After two weeks separating new stock from old finally there al laying again apart from two. Makes things harder for feeding and things. Didn't want to have to split them up. Didn't realise some chickens just don't mix.
  5. I have recently been thinking of having a go at making a nice walking stick from start to finish. I was talking amongst the family when my granny said I have a stick and rams horn in the house that ya grand got years ago and never got round to doing it, you can have that if ya want I would love to see it put to use and looking nice. So up I went and gathered the goodies. Now my problem starts, were do I begin. Haha. Have read up about it but still a bit stuck. The horn is hollow right through and is quite a bit wider than the top of the stick which I would think would make a bad lookin join. A
  6. I expect my older hens to slow down in laying. But other 4 are defiantly pols the guy I got them from it a top bloke and has very good name in the area. Separated the new ones from old and still nothin
  7. Cheers for ya advice. Will get them separated this week and see what happens. Another thing I was told is the cockeral keeps them in check and would stop the fighting between them. But so many people say different things. Just a process of elimination eh
  8. Will start adding more variety to these diet. Was always told watch what ya give them when there on layers pellets coz everything they need is in that and extra foods can interfere with the balances. Some of the old birds do still attack the new birds but not in a way I would think would cause them stress. Is it worth separating the old from the new
  9. I have mixed the breeds. I have put two black rocks and two leg bars with the 5 older brown hens. Don't suppose ya get racist chickens do ya? Lol
  10. Some impressive stuff on there. Makin rough ply look so good with a couple of coats of varnish eh. A trip to the wood yard next pay day for me. Lol
  11. Yeah a see what ya mean, it's a hard thing to look up coz not in many shops, would be much easier to copy cat a couple just to get started then get creative and design my own once I new sizes and what people want. Will start doin my home work
  12. What sort of prices would you be happy paying. Seen some on ebay a single for 40 quid and a double for 60 is that about right, seems quite expensive to me
  13. So there is no set in stone size that I would need to make, just what ever works best? Wasn't sure if there is some kind of regulations about space and size for the welfare of the dogs?
  14. Any one know no the average size of a single and double terrier box, is it a set size or made different each time for different size vehicles?
  15. That's all I was hopping to do just a bit pocket money now and then to pay for feed and the rent and maybe a bit to put away for holidays. A little savings pot just to add up and forget about. No bother born to run, just really hate my job and get a bit wound up over it. Lol
  16. Not quite sure think it's around 6.10 per hour something like that
  17. Already work full time mate do 12 hour continental shifts. Just lookin for a bit to do on the side to try and do better, no harm in that is the? Good on ya stig shows it can be done if you find the right things to trade
  18. All I ever feed is the pellets. Had ten chickens before these lot and they popped them out like a machine till old age hit them but these things don't wanna na
  19. Ha ha love meat but I'm no butcher.
  20. Have placed two eggs in the hut, been there for 3 days now and nothing has had them away. Been told it may be the stress off mixing them but through they would of settled down by now. I also have a cockeral running with them would that have anything to do with it?
  21. Easier said than done thou mate. Bills to pay kids to feed. Plenty jobs out there but min wage is good for no one
  22. Well said stig. Defiantly how I feel at the min, stuck in a dead end job, good money but treat worse than a dog. Lookin to start somethin on the side and gradually progress. Mate of mine from school set up with his dad in a unit makin shed and large stuff but I would prefer small easy to move gear. Gonna get right on this now. Cheers
  23. Think a couple of the older hens are in moult but the young birds seem fine and were bought from a good farmer, don't wanna kill them just cost me nearly 50 notes
  24. Stig defiantly something I wanna do. Have thought about breeding things but don't really like to produce animals just yo make a quick quid. But your suggestions are what I've thought of most. Cheers may be the kick I need to get goin known some one makes it work.
