no its not all about catching things your dog wont be able to handle ,it will be about testing you and your dogs for stamina, guts ,and the way they work the light ,they wont have a patch on my or my mates dog ,so hurry up down and then you will see .its a pity you was not here the night before last you would have seen a 11month old dog retreve a fully grown fox in the dark and jump a 5 bare gate with it in his mouth ,like i say whin these dogs are not your normal run of the mill .and i cant put on here what he stoped in its track just before single handed ,but because it was so big the pe

I think the type of chest youre on about is not just a deep chest associated with a running dog, but also the width of the chest, if a dog has a wide ribcage aswell as a deep one it will have a greater lung capacity than a dog with a deep but narrow chest. Bigger lung capacity= more efficient delivery of oxygen to the working muscles therefore greater stamina potential. Look at alot of whippets built for short bursts, they have deep but narrow chests, a dog that is not renound for its stamina but for pure explosive speed, also comming in greyhounds, although many coursing bred greyhounds

i wonder if any one could live of the land in such a large area as the FOREST OF DEAN with all its sourounding rivers FULL OF SALMON and ,TROUT , and tidal waters FULL OF ALL SORTS OF FISH TO BE SOLD OR EATEN and in the fields and woods you have DEER ,BOAR ,RABBITS ,HARES ,WALLABIES ,yes they are here as well as BIG CATS ,HUNDREDS OF PHEASANTS SHOOTS ,WILD AMERICAN TURKEYS ,QUAIL , DUCKS plus all the vermin that needs sorting by some one at a price ,well the list could go on ,but i realy dont think it would be possible my self ,so i would have to agree with every one else ,and as fo

Catcher could not agree more .:and i thought no one would say it . if some of you took the time to read the thread ,you would have seen this the answer i was looking for , , simple as ,nothing more nothing less ,looks like some one else knows his dogs ..and how do i obtain it in a dog ,simple plenty of work and build the lungs and heart up from very young ,because you wont get the same results with a old dog because they would have developed 90 percent of their lung and heart capacity already . this will just help to ease any swelling ,stand the foot it in a bucket of cold water for about 10 mins after running .
