    IT COULD BE A DETACHED LIGAMENT/S BEHIND THE TOE.EITHER WAY, PLEASE GET YOUR DOG TO THE VETS AS SOON AS YOU CAN .IF IT IS THE LIGEMENT/S,LIKE MY DOG THE VET WILL HOPEFULLY BE ABLE TO INJECT A SCLEROSING AGENTS MIXED WITH SOME OF THE DOGS BLOOD,TO HOPEFULLY RE-ATACH THE LIGEMENT(IF THATS THE PROBLEM).THE VET SHOULD CUT THE TOE NAIL WELL BACK AS WELL .CAN YOU GET YOUR DOG TO A VET THAT IS USED TO TREATING GREYHOUNDS/RUNNINIG DOGS.LET US KNOW HOW YOU GET ON.

    TALKING TO A MATE WHO HAD DONE SOME LAMPING,SLIPPED HIS DOG , DOG CAME BACK WITH A BLOODY NOSE.WHEN HE CHECKED IT WAS A BIG BROWN PEBBLE.(THOUGHT IT WAS BACK END OF A RABBIT).ME,DURING THE DAY TIME I WALKED 40 YARDS INTO A FIELD THINKING IT WAS AN HARE ,CONVINCED IT WAS CHANGING SHAPE AS I GOT CLOSER .ONLY TO FIND AT 2 YARDS IT WAS A PIECE OF SAND STONE.THIS WAS A GOOD FEW YEARS AGO,ANYONE DONE THE SAME,AND WHAT GAME WHERE YOU CONVINCED YOU SAW AT THE TIME.

    a book i can highly recomend is THE ULTIMATE GREYHOUND BY MARK SULLIVAN,the last chapter is an A-Z of common diseases and health problems.as a quick reference i go to this book,for some problems a photograph is shown,in short it tells you,common sites for the problem,signs,cause,and management.but still any doubts then to the vets.on amazon at the moment for £5.00+p&p(Used).

    THE OTHER DAY (LATE TEA TIME) MY DOG HAD A HARD RUN ON BIG EARS.HE WAS A COUPLE OF FIELDS AWAY FROM ME ,WHEN I NOTICED HIM STOOD AT THE ENTRANCE TO A FIELD (THROUGH BINOCULARS).WHEN I REACHED HIM HE WAS LAYED SHATTERED.WHEN HE GOT UP HE WENT INTO THE SHALLOW DITCH AND MARKED THE ENTRANCE TO THE SMALL /SHORT DRAINAGE PIPE.HE WOULD NOT COME AWAY,TO ME BIG EARS HAD GONE TO GROUND,EVEN THOUGH I NEVER SAW THIS.IN 35YEARS ON HAVING DOGS(ON AND OFF) THIS IS THE 3rd TIME I HAVE EXPIERIENCED THIS,HAS ANY ONE ELSE .ALSO HAS ANY ONE SEEN BIG EARS SWIM ACROSS A RIVER/POND.

    IF YOU GO AND BUY WORKING DEERHOUNDS, LURCHERS and LONGDOGS BY Bill Doherty,the book will help you to decide, it did for me.his years of experience,knowledge,etc and his level headed accounts and his expertice shows in his book.i have a 3/4greyhound 1/4deerhound at 29tts ,yes he is big so what its not about numbers.its to see him work and run.what a tempermant hes got and what a companion.in time i will either have a first X or even a pure deerhound from working stock,which is my dream dog.
