  4. WMN The autumn mist and drizzle did not dampen the determined mood at the opening meet of the Mid Devon Hunt at Chagford on Saturday, where the hunting community demonstrated yet again that their sport is still very much alive. Some 70 riders and their mounts met more than 200 foot followers at the gateway to the High Moor. After a spectacular ride-in on Mr Grumbles and accompanied by his baying hounds joint Master of Fox Hounds (MFH) George Lyon-Smith said: "All is going extremely well and as you can see we have fantastic support and there is a huge amount of heart in the country.

  11. Myself and Countryman went out last night for a few hours on the fields near to us in West Cornwall. The weather conditions were not perfect for lamping, however the wind did start to pick up by the end. Countryman decided to take his most experienced lurcher Sophie out for a run. To start with we thought that the rabbits had been logging onto Hunting Life during the week to find out when we were comming becuase they didnt seem to be playing but after deciding to check out a other bit of land we were in for a treat. Countryman said that Sophie had caught seven the previous night, so

  18. Grey Squirrel Cull Just found this on the BBC News website. Bounties should be paid for the shooting or trapping of grey squirrels, according to a Conservative MSP. Murdo Fraser said consideration must be given to such measures to preserve numbers of native red squirrels. The party's deputy leader said that only suitably qualified people with shotgun licences, like gamekeepers, would get the money. However, an animal protection group said the proposal would lead to "carnage in the countryside". Scotland is reported to be home to more than 75% of the UK's red squirrel p

  20. However dont buy that one, the item in question is a British Army "NBC Suit" used in case of a nuclear attack, is lined with charcoal and would soak up water like f**k! What you want is a C95 Smock! Tried and tested around the world but dont get the desert version becuase you would look like a tit in the countryside!!! Easy to patch up unlike a wax jacket!!!
