  2. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/scotland/north_east/6274821.stm
  3. Hey Clinton....be about March/April time....
  4. Weclome aboard Bolja...I'm moving to Brissy in a couple of months...am I going to have bother sourcing a ferret or two?
  5. I had it years ago except the RSPCA used the excuse that were my dogs were barking in order to get a look at them. Now my dogs are mute so I knew that was a lie. The way it stands now mate is that you have a neighbour that is an anti. Depending on the extent of her views, you could have bother...you might not, but bear it in mind. The RSCPA won't bother you anymore though hopefully so that's a good thing.
  6. That would be 3/4 1/4 and not 4/6 2/6
  7. That lurcher is a beauty Best of luck and keep us informed of how you go with it.
  8. I agree Cost round here is £60 for a 40lb ish dog.
  9. Bolios posts here shed some light on the EBT's used http://www.thehuntinglife.com/forums/index...pic=17492&st=30
  10. Eammon...my lurcher had a very soft mouth with birds...look at the pics in that old article above.
  11. Been hoping this wouldn't happened for years. I saw the writing on the wall with the pure wheatens at Reid do's years ago. There was this interest on the edge of the stafford circle in strong terriers such the wheaten and the Kerry. It's a fashion thing, it's got to be cos' most of them never worked their staffords so why would they want anything else? It was all about "owning" the type, with the best ped etc etc...that was a goal in itself rather than a starting point. Looks like the wheaten cross is going the way you thought and spelled out in your article. When people asked me what Meg was
  12. They're by Henry Alken Joe...I've been collecting his sporting prints for years now. Got some nice coursing ones and a lovely "spearing the otter" one which shows bulldogs working alongside hounds. I've just contacted a sporting auction house about putting them in for an April sale.
  13. Few more pics for you mate Getting ready to let the dog go... And a famous drawing dog of the era.... Staffs are greedy little b*****ds and the average pet owner thinks they are doing them a kindness by feeding them titbits.
  14. That pic is from 1911 I think (I'll have a butchers tonight) and the dog is wearing a Colby harness so the writing on the back says. It's post marked New York.....so I'm thinking it ain't a staffy mate
  15. Staffs, or bull and terriers if you like, performed in a pit traditionally so there's no reason to dock their tails..... Although some clearly did......
  16. Louie...someone is sitting there pissing themselves laughing right now.... wind up merchant
  17. Hi David, when you talk about staying to the quarry, are you talking about above or below? Thanks
  18. I did notice a lot of folk being into the "papers" as you say. Some of those mags are just full of stud adverts. I didn't realise there was a lot of paper hanging going on though. Same everywhere I suppose. Are the Walkers you refer to "Treeing Walker Coonhounds?" What's the main difference between them and the Mountain Curs?
  19. Fair enough mate. I know what you mean about dogs getting killed around you...I have the same curse I think I love reading about the hounds you guys use out there. I had a few copies of some bloodlines magazines that Cupid lent me....it's amazing how far back some of the breeding goes
  20. Always good to see the bairns involved 9 months is a bit young to be breeding him though isn't it?
  21. Best of luck Bullyson. Keep us informed of how they get on
