  3. Pets at home sell it save yourself delivery prices if you can
  4. Well i think you should have either asked for advice before you put them together ot read up on the subject first, you owe it to the animals involved to at least have a little of the basic knowledge really So you have absolutly no idea how long a jill carrys for ?
  5. Kay, on the unit I spoke of everything is auto. At this time of year light comes on auto at 4 am, there is an alarm bell that rings 5mins before the feed belts are operational, this bell conditions the birds to get to the feed troughs when it rings, I believe this is one of the reasons they never stray to far from the shed, hatches open auto at 8. As dusk falls, when the last "dinner" bell goes the hatches will also automatically close after a set time. Lighting will go off slowly by dimmer switch. All the eggs are collected by a conveyor belt, the feeding periods and light are all delivered s

Nope not had a holliday for 14 yrs as i have always had animals here
  10. I was a bit supprised to hear he sells chicken for £ 20 quid a throw, but in all fairness he could have had all that edited out before the programme went to air, i think all in all it did kind of highlight the conditions they live in, but i still think in reality theres no such thing as '' freerange'' the supermarkets dont charge "£ 20 per chicken for freerange , so somewhere there being reared in vast numbers & my idea of freerange is allowing the animal to roam freely outside , with shelter if its needed.
  11. Well i always thought battery hens were kept in artificial light all the time to keep them laying, so if you can buy ''freerange eggs '' all year round then they must also be kept in some kind of artificial environment to enable the shops to sell them as '' freerange''
  12. Naughty Ula Martin the socks arnt odd why? i worked in a rubber factory when i was young & had to use superglue & the amount of time i stuck my fingers together was a joke, Hope theres no lasting damage

  15. I must be so hard when it comes to this sort of thing as not even the goats making a noise bothered me, i just saw it for what it was, showing people what happens in a slaughterhouse or at least how it should be done Maybe if i actually went to a slaughterhouse & smelt & saw it for real i would have a differing ipinion but i dont really know

  18. Hey a pound a dozons good for free range eggs
  19. I have watched both & didnt find it at all bad, killed quickly & cleanly, i have enjoyed both episodes, the next ones going to be interesting though it veal I will be watching it
  20. Thanks for that i am looking now
  21. Well out of interest i rang the vet i use for a price for a spey & a microchip & they quoted me £ 65 for the two precedures so £ 25 is bloody good in terms of what it would cost you , and speying costs vary greatly depending where you live Also if your ferret is chipped it can prrove ownership if the animals pinched as well as help find its owner if it escapes & is picked up Most rescues spey & castrate before the ferret is rehomed reason being they dont want the kits next season , but theres still a huge amout being handed over , the rescue i have contact with in Cov
  22. I have a budget of £30.00 a week to buy food , that includes milk & meat & i get loads for it, tons of fresh veg & good quality meat, the key is to shop around for deals what saddens me is seeing '' mothers who come into the low income bracket wandering round tesco with 3 highly uncontrolable kids trying to shop for a family, but when you look at whats in the trolly its hardly any wonder her offsprings are ''hyper'' a trolly full of shite, high in sugar & fat & lord knows what else
