We all do things we regrett later in life use foundation on it dave if its not massive, i do when i put me posh frock on to cover the two on my arms but there teeny so its easy to do Its a tigers head on my hand,- and NO i'm not wearing girly foundation when i go out LOL. The point i was making was if you feed dry food as the ferrets staple diet ie feed nthing other than dry then use ferret food, not cat food. If your spending little more than a quid for a box off cat bisuits from Aldi or tesco then its going to contain soya protein, soyas vegetable , if the animals deprived of meat protein then it allows the urine to become to alkerline this means theres a higher risk of struvite crystals forming & then they can & do turn to stones which need surgical removal . meat protein helps keep the urine ascidic stopping the formation of crystals , simple r

I have a lot of respect for the smaller self funded dog rescues, they get on with the job in hand, lots of heartache , backache etc. finding people to foster dogs , trusting people enough to do right by the dogs you place with them must be hard .

not so much as whats wrong with people on here, but whats wrong with you, I could understand if dry ferret food was not made, but it is, by many suppliers, so the only reason I can see of feeding cat instead of ferret biscuit, is price cant say anymore, Ive got to get some fish food for my budgie Thats what i dont understand even the cheapo cat biscuits are nearly the same price as the pets at home own brand ferret food , so i cant really understand why anyone would opt for a bag of tescos own cat bisuits for example rather than a bag off ferret food if they want to feed the dry stuf

If you using cheapo cat biscuits the ferrets not getting any animal based protein , as it contains vegetable protein (soya) so if thats the ferrets staple diet then no its not getting all it needs, its cat food not ferret food

Totally agree Dave , i think it does sometimes limit you in certain industrys , i can say that the origonal pictures extreme & i know that other than very few industrys would employ someone who looked like that , and to be honest its hardly a supprise

What ever floats your boat i say , not my cup of tea but its got to be a sort of self inflicted disability in some cases, jobs wise for example ? i know i found it hard to get work becuase of my appearence at one time

Perhaps as a one off but I wouldn't feed mine on dry cat food :no:on a regular basis, ferret complete food has all the essential nutrients that they need dry cat food would only do as an absolute emergency IMO. Totally agree Julie cheaper cat foods soya based protein as well ok in an emergency

Basically they should be fully weaned by the time there 8 weeks old, so between the ages or 3 weeks & 8 weeks is when they start to take less milk & more solid food , wean means take less of, in this case milk , not stop milk at 8 weeks & expect them to go from that to meat in one go
