The best part is when you brush it & burnish it, its amazing how it goes from dull grey to silver in seconds

    had a dabble

for donkeys yrs i have always wanted to have a go at making things out of silver, my favourite of all the metals, so i have done , its only a small peice weighing 6 grms & my first attempt & its ok ish not something i think i could get into in a big way as its expencive but for an occasonal dabble at it i wouldnt mind doing something else
  10. In the first place i was called by someone saying they were from customs & excize saying they wanted my bank details over the phone to set up a dd to repay money i was over paid I thought at the time it was dodgy as would anyone else, so i rang the tax credit place up & apparently it wasnt dodgy they said i had to pay back 70 quid a week i told them i only picked up 69 quid a week so they left it. not heard anything for 12 months but no doubt they will get it one way or another
  11. i am one of the thousands who has been overpaid by this tax credit thing, it was far easier when you sent in pay slips of what you had earned for the previous 6 weeks or so, i was caught by having to estimate self employed earnings , what a joke . I dont understand why you cant ring in every 6 months or so & tell them what you have earned from your latest pay slip if your employed rather than having to renew once a year & then getting told sorry your money being stopped as we have payed you to much because your earnings are more than was estimated Its a joke
  12. Well isnt that what the tax credit system is supposed to be doing, helping people with child care costs to enable people to go back to work ? Or are they just going to re name whats already in place
  13. Greyhounds should be muzzled in a public place by law. That was the case long before the dangerous dog list.A mate of mine in the 70,s was fined when his greyhound on a lead killed a terrier which went for him despite my pal giving many and urgent warnings to the lady with the terrier to get it back to her.It went to court and he was fined for not having a muzzle on the dog and not for the dog killing the terrier which comes natural to a working or retired greyhound.Which is why you are required to muzzle the dog.The fine then was £5.oo hope this helps. Act and section please mate....
  14. Sounds like your sorting this lurcher out Jackard well done this dog here is basically a lovely dog he just needs more time & slowly i see the improvements in him daily , he loves his walks & a full belly
  15. I found the act you were on about chid & it looks like anything with whippit or greyhound in it is supposed to be muzzled (1) In this Act, unless the context otherwise requires, the following expressions have the meanings hereby assigned to them:— "contravention " includes, in relation to any provision, a failure to comply with that provision; "enactment " includes any provision contained in or having effect under any Act of the Parliament of Northern Ireland or of the Parliament of the United Kingdom or of the Irish Parliament; "greyhound " includes any gre
  16. Oh my god, bring on the lynch mob. You are an outragious thoughtless dog owner kay and you must be stopped at all costs. I favour public humiliation with tar and feathers. Well what do you expect for a Cannock lass
  17. Right its now clear in my head which way to go , collar , harness & muzzle , i think the brasers & belt approach is the only answer really Thanks to everyone for the imput much appriciated
  18. No not in my opinion , had a rabbit here for 7 yrs that had free run of the garden it shared with up to 30 ferrets at one point
  19. As Max has already said it's an NGRC rule that greyhounds must be muzzled in a public place and only applies to NGRC trained dogs. Kay you were in the right your dog was on a lead and stationary, the other dog which was obviously not under control approached you. With this in mind I'm struggling to understand why some of the members are pointing the finger at you. I only worried a bit as theres got to come a point when i have to loose the dog in a suitable safe area to really test his recall, in my gardens one thing but out in the open theres different things that could distract hi
  20. Fantastic & i agree i find her singing very moving as i do some of Sinead O connors songs
  21. 24. I still feel that yesterday we did everything right , it was the other dog that wasnt on a lead & it wandered up to the dog, basically the owners fault for not having it on a lead
  25. I wouldnt loose him off the lead untill i am happy he will come back, i was just really wondering after yesterday fiasco , he was on the lead then but its only incase he does manage to slip his collar or anything
