Maybe Im hypper sensitive at the moment, but got really emotional while reading your post. Like yourself I feel that this isone of the worst things that can ever happen to any pet owner, I had to have my collie put down couple of years ago and still burst into tears when I see a dog that resembles him, went to a local sheep dog trials in the summer and am sure I spent most of the da in tears, (some may say Im sad) but when your dog is your best best friend and they go to hell and back with you, you will do anything with for them. I used to take my dog through a field which would be ladden wi

Tahnks to everyones views on this, I have now been in touch with the police as this stupid woman was up there again when I went to check on the horses again this evening, and yes once again the dog was off the lead, this time she saw me and went inthe opposite direction, god help her if she hadnt, unfortunatley not been able to find out her exact address but have found out her name and the road she lives on. Thanks again for your views.

Hi Ive just been to check on my horse and along side the field runs an old railway line, since I had my 2yr old son with my I walked along her and called the horse over, he as usual came galloping across the field to me, whild checking him over a woman with two loose dogs came along the line, the first dog ran straight up to my son and scared the living daylights out of him as it knocked him over. Then to add to it, the dog jumped up at my horse and bite him, luckly the horse has got two coats on but the dog did tear one of these, luckly no injury to the horse, asked the woman for her n

we in the working dog world get called by the antis , lacs, rspca, etc , when you see programs like the one in question and the kc one a couple of months back , it enforces My belief that are way of life is right and the care we take of the animals we use are bred to a high standard , from pups to the day they die in the majority they are welcared for and live the life that they were put on the earth for , I quite agree, I have two springers and although the older dog is mainly a pet as he is my husbands dog, I have every intention of my pup being worked, asi know the enjoyment they ge

yeah i watched it, like half the pups they got died that week. thought it was bad like. Really dont understand why there is nothing in place for more control over the breeding of dogs to ensure that all dogs are sold in good health and that there is no suffering.

Hi Did anyone see the programme on rouge dealers the other night? if not it was about dog breeders. Personally, I thought it was terrible the way that anyone can just breed a dog and get away with the horrific conditions and illnessess some of these dogs are in, and sold in. I have recently bought a springer and I was lucky enough to know the breeder and I saw the mother, father and grandfather of the dog I bought, and a wonderful dog he is to. Am so glad that these matters are being brought to the attention of people as it is so easy for anyone to just go and buy a dog.

about £12 off ebay Hi must be something about the name Teal, I have a 7mth springer of the same name and I took him along with Stubbs 4yr old springer to the beach near my parents home in Harlech, looks very similar to the beach you were at but obviously not the samw one, anyway, on the way there Teal was also car sick and I also had an argument with a woman who couldnt control her dogs.

Hi just like to say welcome to the site, pretty new to it myself.

Is it possible they shampooed the dog and dried with the blow dryer? Could be that the groomer stripped the coat of its natural oils. I don't know if you have Cowboy Magic and Show Sheen on your side, but I'm sure there would be equivalent products available. Equestrians and show dog fanciers swear by these products. Let this be a lesson: no good ever comes from bathing a dog--the one exception being when the dog tangles with a skunk. hi its def not a vet matter. Basically the cutting has softened the coat texture and it maywell take 6 months or more to grow it out. often, once clip

Are you able to recommend any good gundog training books that might help me with my 8mth springer, want to use him with a whistle. Thanks

Hi, I have a four year old springer and while I was away my mother in law thought she would treat the dog to a bit of a pamper and tookhim to be clipped, much to my disgust, anyway since having been clipped I am having a terrible struggle with his coat matting like mad, almost as though it has been feathered too much. Any suggestions please.
