  1. Max,you sound like a politician ! lOL ! It doesn't matter if your ground holds 20,000 or 100,000...... If you can only get les than 17,000 then it' s a very poor turn out !
  2. The difference is Gnash isn't bragging about West Hams support. You keep on about Sunderlands support but they couldn't get 17000 for a 5th round cup tie on a saturday , so they are not a well supported club, but all the wannabee's will be out for the cup final.
  3. The biggest crowds we had, Max, was back in the days when we had shipyards, steelworks and coal mines. It didn't cost £35-40 to see a game! We had teams we could relate to, not players on £100,000 a week. I'ts not our game anymore, it belongs to the money men! Enjoy your day at Wembley, but don't pay the fiver for a burger or a pint. !!
  4. South Shields, a "Sand Dancer".
  5. I ran dogs at Trimdon Grange, Whippets. Greyhounds at Pelaw Grange. I comment on the football threads because I like football but support no particular club.
  6. No, wasn't born in Sunderland, but then again neither were you. I lived in Penshaw, couldn't get more Mackem than that, also lived in Washington and could see from my window the hill the Lampton Worm was supposed to be wrapped around, right next to the bridge over the Wear. I don't support any football team, bit if I did I'd probably support my local team rather than one in the general area who happen to be in a cup final.
  7. Ask your bank manager or you mortgage lender. Have you not got a Business plan ? There are government schemes for new business start ups. Good luck with your venture.
  8. Max, I doubt you could tell me anything about Wearside; I've lived there, worked there and have children born there. I wish Sunderland well, as I do the whole of the North East.
  9. Are you from Sunderland, Max ? No politicians answer, just a straight yes or no. You sound a bit like all those prawn sandwich eaters that Roy Keane spoke about....... No ties to the club, but jump on the bandwagon.
  10. Max had no answer about the Roker Road, as it may have led him to Roker Park, which was demolished years ago! If he went up the A19 or along Wessington Way, that would lead him to the Stadium Of Light; an easy mistake for some one not from Sunderland to make. Oh well, it's probably better than supporting Hartlepool or the 'Boro ! LOL !
  11. I said I was a pedandtic b*****d; not an intelligent b*****d; it seems I've added an apostrophe, but excluded an "m", as in "comma", my bad ! LOL !
  12. ok, I'll put a bit of it in brackets this make more sense lol. f**k me, I've never wanted a team ( I have no interest in whatsoever and never have), to win f**k all, in all my life, as I do Sunderland Being a pedantic b*****d, I've added a couple of coma's. '
  13. If you were going "along the Roker Road", Max, you'd be heading in the wrong direction !
  14. Sung to the tune of "The Blaydon Races", Newcastle Uniteds Anthem.........
  15. Baw, there are so many double negatives in that statement; I'm not sure if you have no interest in Sunderland, or you've become Max Mk2 ! LOL !
  16. I found out that the runners up in both cups DON'T get the Europa place, as they used to, it now goes to possibly 6th or 7th in the league, madness ! So let's hope Sunderland win.
  17. As I say, good luck, and I just hope no true supporter misses out on a ticket because some "plastic supporter" gets one !
  18. Then why don't that 70000 or at least a decent proportion of them turn up for games like today's, for example ? Sorry Max, but the majority of those turning up at Wembley won' be true supporters.......
  19. 17k is very poor Max, especially when a team is on a bit of a run . The 70000 who will be at Wembely sound like the prawn sandwich brigade, not true supporters like the ones who were there today .
  20. Looks like Sunderland have got themselves a good manager, and another win today.........but where was the support ? Watching on TV it looked like an awful lot of empty seats.
  21. They were all the rage......... about 40 years ago !
  22. I was in Northumberland a couple of days ago; there was a Hunt going on a few fields away, the hounds singing majestically, and there was shooting going on in the opposite direction and I was excersising the local fauna in the middle of it all ! A beautiful place with loads of good hunting and fishing.
  23. There you go Joe; "If Scotland walks away from the UK; it walks away from the Pound". Straight from the horses mouth, no ambiguity. Listening to it now on Sky.
  24. Joe, being able to spend your money, and being in control of it, are two vastly different things. You would have absolutely NO control of it's value on the international markets or it's exchange rates. I'd like to know how you would plan a budget or develop a five year plan, when you have no idea how the B of E will conduct it's monetary policy.
