  1. all i do if doing a small skin or a brush is leave it to dry and that seems to work fine, ive had my fox brush for about a year and it doesnt smell of has any hair dropping off but a fox skin may want leaving for about 3-4weeks just to make sure

  7. i am 15 years old and i have no problem at all getting permission i have about 700 acres of land to shoot with a shotgun, trap, ferret and work my dog on and all i have done is gone and asked the farmers. i also have gained their permission straight away to use the shotgun and have not had to gain their trust as you mentioned the farmer was going to make you good luck any way with your permission tell me how it goes

  10. i have a right little springer and he is the small and stocky type and he does just about anything that i do he will work very rough cover in the season on rough shoots he will sit still in a hide if im waiting for pigeons or corvids set holes when im out ferreting or grab em when they bolt or just stay at heel when after rabbits retrieve from water or in fact any other terrain i think that springers are one of the most adaptable dogs there are but if you think different please tell me

  12. yes your right you do need a bird from another area as this is the only way i have seemed to catch anything as when i just had a local magpie in i caught nothing but as soon as the call bird was in i was catching them for ages

  15. i have been trapping magpies using the live larsen trap and have had people telling me that my call magpies or the ones that i catch and keep to call others will die. a friend of mine gave me a magpie to call others. mine has stayed alive and all four of his have died. he said that mine will not live long but it is doing fine has anyone else suffered from the magpies dying for no apparent reason in the trap even though well fed and watered all three of mine have suffered no illness up to press
