the better hare no doubt is daylight a lamp bred dog killing them at night is just as hard a test as a day bred dog killing them in january or febuary

salisbury plain tidworth warminster downs are good hares its not that flinty either its mostly grass bald smooth grass an hares fly on it -
im running what is the nearest ive seen to an allrounder she is pretty much a mut comprising of deerhound/greyhound/saluki/wippet/and abit of beddy she is not strong taker of good daytime winter hares but will always kill me 1 and early season hares she will kill 3 4 5 she ferrets 100% kills absolutluy anything on the lamp in numbers works with terriers [bushing] only had a few featherd with her but she is the closest ive seen to an allrounder a few people on this site have seen her work and if all goes well there will be some pups available free to hard working homes

do rabbit him with terriers much in the daylight i had a pup do this for abit when they caught a rabbit the terriers would sometimes rag it abit and the pup soon followed suit but a couple of firm reminders and abit of time an patience and now she is only 5 an half months a retrieving anything even feather be patient mate

kill proper big fallow stags on a regular basis and single handed then see what you recon about reds ive a bitch that is good for the fallow sika an roe single handed kills rabbit fox an hare an more than 1 a night more than once a week but dont fool your selfs about the single handed red deer killers if some owns such a dog i appologise but have seen alot of so called deer dogs run an seen the very dogs struggle with fallow never mind red but i have a ready supply of the bigger species to run if such a dog is up for the challenge?

ive took a few decent sized deer from the new forest all fallow some single some double but them red are somthing else ive been in one or to places and run 3 dogs on 1 to get him over and then it wasnt easy there not exactly hard to catch but its getting them over once there caught there no joke an not much sport need a serious market to mess about with them more hassle then they are worth
