mine are part cocker put springers are to big to bush rabbits it looks painfull to watch down here ive tryed the terrain down here terriers are better all terriers ears get cut mine are torn to bits throu brambles gouse bushes ect ect but a spaniel would get cut to bits plus they dont have the drive i want not knocking them ive seen them beeting birds there brilliant it depends on the terrain and game

scent your post make a lot of sence mate i understand digging is the true test for a terrier but bushing/ratting is still work thats what my dogs have been breed for the right dog for the right job mine will hunt find flush kill not just look at a bush or just run around it weve had the line for generations worker to worker of good bushing dogs i would never say there anything else but my little bitch flick did go to ground if id of wanted her for that maybe shed of done well i dont know i was going to get a digging dog but it aint for me i have 2 terriers mother and daughter the first ones da

why dev if a dog works its a working dog and what about people who hunt for food i know my family did at one time when you do that there very much working dogs i understand what your saying i thought terrier means earth dog but not all dogs can bush to a good standard i dont understand why its just sport to most digging is sport but there dogs aint sporting there workers ?????? when a lot of people eat rabbits they dont eat fox i know its pest controlbut if a dog works its a working dog in the tight cover i work it must be like going to ground anyway and would a dog that hunts fox above ground

i wanted to give digging a try after hearing a lot about it so i made phone calls it was hard to go with people had to be introduced to the right people by the right people so anyway ive always been bushing and love it ive been three times now and to be honest i dont get the same buzz the dogs i seen were very good at there job it was good but not like fast paced bushing just my opinion so i was thinking what offer people prefered ive heard people say bushing aint true terrier work what is your thoughts bigdan

i thought beddy were breed by travlers on the border of england and scotland for rabbiting ive heard of one's that tackled stripey pig but not single handed they were bushing in two's and come across it you do still get good working lines i thought they were close to were border terriers were bread they were fighters is well very game turn on offer dogs ive had a bedlington springer that done this but one dog being used for biguns i dont know there game enough

i dont rate springers to big but a terrier with cocker in them like cocker/pat thats a good dog or russels just when your bringing the dog on let it work with working dogs best way to bring them on i have 2 terriers top bushers mother and daughter the dam is a mix cocker pat russell lakie we put her to a norfolk terrier for the pup both good dogs
