    My 3/4 Whippet 1/4 Collie bitch hit the cover to get the rabbits out into the open I can live with it and that what I want when im out in the day doing cover work but on the lamp she comes off when the rabbit hits the cover wanting the nexts one

    I like Deerhound/Greyhounds and Deerhound/Greyhound/Collie/Greyhounds there are some Deerhound/Greyhound and Deerhound/Greyhound/Collie/Greyhound on the dvd Lurcher mania you can see they are not to big for rabbits

    Yes you are right what you say they only open up when they are frustrated and overmatched but thats like any dog I did not saying I dont like them I like them and I have one but I only going by what I have seen

    Im a rabbiting man I like to work my dogs in the day ferreting and some cover work only lamp when the night are good for lamping

    What lurchers or purebreds do you lot think are on the up I think the Whippets are their increasing popularity for rabbiting I never had one seen them in the field I find them to open up on quarry but they are a good little working dog in their own right for me it their opening up on quarry that puts me off them I like the Whippet cross

    I like to enters my dog at 12 months in the day for the first season so they can get abit of experience on rabbits I do this by ferreting,cover work and I like to stand back to see the dog use its head and work out were the rabbits are then the secon year I start it lamping and afther that all my hard work I have me a alround rabbiting dog So how do you start your dogs off THANKS FORDIE
