    the wooden barrels are very good but in the hot dry weather the wood shrinks and the metal rings holding them together slide off.you can prevent this by hosing them down,on the outside of course.

    used these years ago but changed back to wood for the reasons above,the barrels would condensate and be permanantly wet inside during the cold weather.

    yes you adjust the pellet weight but have you also adjusted the calibre setting from .22 to .177 as well?

    i've had three over the years. very lightweight,great ratter. flimsey barrel on the down side. they've been superceded by the fx storm which is an improvement but with a high price tag to go with it. i had one for a while but prefer the side lever cocking mech of the other fx guns.

    numbers are definately down,i only managed six last night. it didn't help that some of the farm was out of bounds for a change. the resident ginger tom has taken to following me around making one or two of the rats'dissapear' when i go to pick them up for the head count.

    you've done well there mate BUT your rats are a bit of a mangled shabby bunch while mine are fit to grace the table of a king.

    out by myself again. i know we keep saying it but quite a few rats can't be retrieved.i shot a number tonight high up in the roof gerders and didn't fancy the climb to get 'em.

    pointer shyed off tonight,something about washing his hair,so i went it alone.

    you could try putting a heavy scope on it as weight helps reduce recoil.most of the more accurate to be the really heavy ones,8,9 or 10 pounds in weight.
