It made me smile when a little girl about 6 or 7 ran back to her parents saying, "Can we get a ferret for Christmas please daddy?" Could only manage a couple halves of cider during the day because it was too hot. We had a few afterward
  2. I read somewhere that years and years ago, taking rabbits without permission was punishable by death.
  3. Certainly had a great day yesterday at a village fete where my mate and I organised some ferret racing. We had never done this before and didn't know what sort of reaction we'd get or how popular it would prove be. Turns out we were one of the highlights. So many people came up throughout the day, having never seen a ferret before and were asking plenty of questions and had a real interest in it. They all received some informed answers listening intently and came away happy to have learnt something. Some people thought they were rodents! Others never knew they had sharp teeth, so I show

  5. Yep, I've done that a few times, listening to bearing cases on machinery to check for defects. I can't see it working on soft ground though, but it may well do on hard or frosty ground.
  6. They started 2 weeks ago here in Dorset.
  7. If you can't make a 100% positive ID you shouldn't touch them. It can do you some real damage if you don't know what you're picking.
  8. £40 - It's got to go.
  9. I like the beach shot with the sharp focus in the middle and the fuzz in the foreground and background. Got some real depth to it.
  10. Ah, good question! Off the top of my head outside dimensions - roughly 2' x 4' x 3' high. I will take some pics tonight for you and confirm the dims.
  11. This is a good quality large 2 tier hutch that I was using to keep ferrets in. Very sturdy construction. Fully treated wood, Asphalt roof, strong mesh wire, sleeping compartment. Giveaway at £45ono buyer collects.

+1 for that. I've used these knives before, good stuff.
  13. I doubt I'll ever see anything, I don't believe in mumbo jumbo.
  14. Spod Rods - A marketers dream. I really do have to laugh at the 'tackle tarts' who are foolish enough to part money for a spod rod. Just find an old beat up beachcaster at a car boot sale. My mate uses one that's only got about 3 eyes on it but it does the job.
  15. A starving asylum seeker is greeted at Dover by a Good Fairy who grants him 3 wishes. "I'm hungry" he says. POW! A banquet table appears. "I want a nice house" he says. POW! A mansion with a swimming pool appears. "I want to be a real Englishman" POW! Everything vanishes! Asylum seekers asks "Where's everything gone?" Fairy says "You're an Englishman now, and entitled to f**k ALL!"
  16. I acknowledge that there are better things in life than beer. But beer makes up for not having them.
  17. It looks too small for fox, there's not much of a twist in it and it only tapered at one end. Assuming that it was taken at this time of year and the food available, I would expect to see a lot of fur in it.
  18. It looks absolutely nothing like Fox. I'm going to go out on a limb here and say Otter. *Edit* not sure if it is now.
  19. dident you lern histery You obviously didn't learn English with that atrocious spelling. Besides, since when has ferrets and Boeing been part of the history curriculum?
  20. Apparently, in the 1960's, Boeing Aircraft Corporation used ferrets to lay guidewires that pull heavier cables through conduits when building aeroplanes. Wonder if there are any other uses.
  21. Don't even bother with the lagers, it's a little boys drink. Get on some proper westcountry cider and not any of that strongbow/blackthorn/bulmers/magners shyte. Or try some real ales - so many to choose from.
