I started to use Chris Greens 3 years ago they certainly work my mate and me now make them and the only time the magnet comes out know is if there is no wind...
The down side of Chris Greens is the price £47 each and £18 postage...unless he has changed in the last few months that was the price last time i looked..
When i applied for a C/F a few years ago i just put 22 C/F on the variation and they rang me a couple of days later to ask whether i wanted 222 / 223 / 22.250 as i was supposed to state caliber.. by then i had decided so went for the 223
Forgot to add thats Cleveland police...!!
A lot depends where you live i have been a member for 4 years and i think its good value i don't use it as much as i used to because i cover quite a few farms on my own permission... :D
I shoot rats on one farm and rabbits on another the farmers asked me to sort them out.. once you meet some of them and they get to know you they sometimes ask you to do other things...rabbits crows ect..
I have been a member for 4 years and never repeat never had a problem...
You go round the fields find where the birds are then book the field for when you want to shoot..
Even though I'm still a member i have not used them this last year as i have plenty of pigeon shooting on my own permissions now but will still stay a member for some where fresh now and then...
PS..... when i first joined the farms i shot over only had rabbit and crow (mainly sheep and cattle) very few cereal growers so i joined for the pigeons..
I got this book at the Doncaster roadshow (BASC) a few weeks ago (early Xmas present from my son ) he didn't know it till i asked him for the £30 its a signed copy just started to read it this morning and I'm taking my time and really enjoying it.. :clapper: from what Ive read until now its my sons money well spent
I always take a min of 15 flocked shells 2 floaters that i make ( see my signature) 1 lander and a magnet..
If there is no wind i use the magnet if there is a wind it stays in the motor and i just use the floaters they bring the birds in OK... :shout: :shout:
My mate has one but he does not rate it for pigeon shooting OK if just sat out for rabbits he reckons its a bit cramped for the pigeons. And has been said legs tend to sink into the ground...
CLEVELAND For me they have always being OK the only complaint i would have is they will not let me have vermin on my 223,, classed as overkill.. :wallbash:
I do a lot of decoying for pigeons and crows and take a few mates with me and i have one main rule
when we leave the field the only thing that is left behind is a few feathers and footprints... :good:
