  1. Lovely old running dogs,...I'm pleased that a few lads still fancy owning some of these beautiful animals..:clapper:

My old stock were bred directly off an Ardkinglas Deerhound dog over a tremendously well-made, rapid -striking Irish Coursing Greyhound.

This F1 product was spectacular, but was never to my taste, so we went in search of a big strong, Cur dog, to put across one of the  Deerhound x Greyhound bitches

My Lucy was the end result,..she was still very much a Deerhound hybrid,...but was, in my opinion,..a far better hunting type.:good:

  2. Would agree wholeheartedly Fred:good:

I travelled up to Northumberland with a pal, to meet up with and have a walk out, with a well-known Spaniel enthusiast.?

Unfortunately,..the gundog guy turned out to be a bit of a miserable fecker, so, rather than upset him,  I neglected to get my old camera, out of the Tesco bag...

Shame really, cos both cur pups caught plenty of fine rabbits and, even mugged a brace or two of hares:clapper:

Cracking wild and wooly type of place, ideal terrain for a mouching jukel....I would love to return some day?

  3. Memories are really all we can take with us...

Its strange,..but as each day passes, I seem to remember more things....?

I saw my first and only Dingo, several years back,..he was kept in terrible conditions, in a run-down private zoo...

Seeing, something still burning wild, in his sad almond eyes, made me go in search of an Oz Heeler,....I'm so glad that I did...:good:

  4. 25 minutes ago, Neal said:

Good point. I've often thought it odd that the majority of heeler or kelpie cross lurchers I've seen have been tawny/stereotypical dingo coloured...although dingoes come in a much wider variety of colours.

    You are correct there Neal?

Both, Kelpie and ACD lurcher hybrids, often show the primitive wild dog colouration,...that ancient hue seems to be embedded, within their geneology.?

  5. Listen up now bonny lads,...This is possibly, not the most commercially-minded thing for me to say,.but you all work hard for your vonga, so it's only fair...:good:

The wee book on offer, is mostly a collection, of personal stories, tales and opinions,..nothing more, nothing less...

It is hardly a Plummer or Darcy type epic, its just me,..chatting away,...so, do bear this in mind, to avoid disappointment ...?

The Books are coming in, November 26th, only available via PayPal...

     All the best, Phil..?

  6. Sensible words Nicepix,...I rate the versatility of the Collie extremely highly,...a good example of the type will have a crack at most jobs.:clapper:

I enjoy taking my Whippet/Cur on the various commercial shoots, ..for me, it makes the entire experience much more interesting..

Obviously, with the a smidgen of Sooty Sam in her lineage,...shit can frequently hit the fan,....then it can get, a tad emotional..:good:
