  4. No offence taken, but I said he disliked kids ....... I didn't say he was aggressive or nasty towards them. As a matter of fact he cowers away from them if they walk past him at shows or events but luckily I live on an isolated farm with no kids for miles so he can't get terrorised by them under normal circumstances. He is fine with kids who visit here. The point I was trying to make, albeit badly, is that dogs are born with genes which shape their personality ........ it is up to us, as responsible dog owners, to ensure that they learn the correct way to behave in society and bring out th
  5. Yep, dog feels threatened. I have a whippet who dislikes kids from around 14 downwards - no reason, just the way he is. Unless there is a suitable adult home for him, the kind thing is to PTS I'm afraid. Please don't pass the problem on. Sorry, bud.

  7. Whatever anyone thinks, the dog doesn't deserve to be passed around from home to home. No wonder he's being defensive!!! He's probably never met a child before and at 6 mths he needs work and training. How old is the child? Is she old enough to go for a controlled walk with you and the dog? That way the dog will see her as part of an enjoyable experience!!
