  4. bought a whippet mate not a lurcher and I just compare him to ones I have seen, if you say yours work as well as any sighthound you have seen that's ok with me, we all have a different opinion that's all.
  5. I have had maybe three what you would call noted dogs, all related, the first, Scout was probably the best all-round terrier I've had who didn't have a good start. As a pup as most of you do I started her on rats and we were getting plenty at the time but by the time she was seven months, she was dropping them (jibbing is the term I think) and so I lifted from ratting. 7. As some of you may know I have recently bought a whippet of Dave Sleight and I think there is a noticeable difference between him and any kc whippet, no nervousness, he is confident and above all keen to hunt through most types of ground eg open fields or wooded areas and at only a young age he has, I think, got that extra zip if you like. His build is of a much stronger workman like type than I have seen in the kc ones I watched work a few years ago.
  8. An update on my whippet pup which I named Tarn, caught his first rabbit yesterday afternoon, a myxied one I found but its a start. Most of the rabbits he has run have either been too near cover or he has seen them too late, I take him out regardless though, he is also mad keen for squirrels but has been unlucky not to catch, I will try and get some updated pics of him on here.
  9. get a shock collar mate or try and knacker them out, get them out as much as you can, some dogs bark out of boredom.

  19. I can't get any pics up but he is a blue blck pup with a white blaze and some white on his feet, started getting him to fetch a rope toy without using titbits, he did ok fetching it two or three times, with food he wasn't bothered over the rope at all, just have to keep at it I think. Reynard
