BORDERFOX i am not saying you are wrong but i doubt very much if ANY police force would use the gronendael as a working dog .... it would have more than likely been a black long haired shepherd

the tervueren and the groenendael are absolutely useless as workers since the show fraternity got hold of them .... the groenendael has had a slight reprieve as a good number of them are now being used as assistence dogs particularly for people with lower limb injurys as they are a very strong dog and can be used aids to rising ..... the lakenois is a very steady herding dog and are a pleasure to watch working ... they have the endless stamina of a border collie but conserve and use it wildly as they are a lot steadyer and very rarely get phased by anything ..... as for the malinois they may be on the small side for a protection dog but by f**k they have some jaw power ..........................

a bloke down my way kept this type of cross for a long time and had some real nice types ... i never owned one but i know a few lads that did and they were happy with them ... the bloke gave up the game through ill health and sadly his line filtered away .... as for taking a long time to mature you will find this to be the case as all guard breeds are fairly slow to mature so i wouldnt worrie to much .... i would love to see a belgian malinois cross as they have a massive prey drive ... are much lighter framed than the german shepherd without losing any strengh or power and are a very athletic dog .... the only drawback of such a breed is that they are highly inteligent and high maintenece and as such need to be constantly kept stimulated ................

i am doing this as a favoure for somebody on another site if you have any info pm and i will let him know ....... Rosie is 4 years old and is a Patterdale Terrier Bitch. She is black and tanned with a white chest. She has a smooth coat and docked tail. She has been microchipped and spayed. Approximatley 10-12 inches tall to shoulder. friday night we let out our pet patterdale into the yard about 8pm and she never came back. she never wonders far and always sits at the door when she wants to come in. but not friday. we feel someone has stolen her.

guys a big piece of vet bed is only a tenner ..... it is desinged so that you can put soaking wet dogs on it and the water will drain away to the bottom core where it evaporates .... the top fluffy core stays dry and warm .... it is also completely washable ..... i used to use straw and shredded paper and mats and rags and all sorts of other stuff but since changing to vet bed i wont go back .............

1000 yds suits me fine but i am not running my dog unless the purse is a decent one. i dont normally take one on one competitions but i will make an exception in your case just to prove a point. but as i say the money needs to be of a substantial size.

i only keep distance dogs as to me the sprint is over far to quickly and doesnt in my opinion test the dog to his fullest. i have a very good marathon dog at the moment that i will put up against anything in your kennel for any amount of money. as you say you have a GREAT deal of experience so you Must have something in your kennel that you can race against my dog. OR DO YOU ???
