how do folks, Driving home yesterday afternoon and came across a a distraught women with bent fromt car and a very much alive roe doe sat in the road. checked if teh driver ok, yes no probs, but she was worried about the deer and whether it would survive etc. I am guessing that although it was alive and looked reasnobly bright the fact that it was still lying in the road would suggest it was pretty knackered. Anyway she had phoned teh police who had phoned a local farmer to come and deal with said animal. Had I been phoned (bit on your ticket about humane dispatch, does that automatically

I had the Kawasaki 360 2 or 4wd automatic, great for flat out speed and acceleration, couldnt pull teh skin of a rice pudding and kept breaking down. I was speaking to a dealer at kawasaki dealer at the game fair and he reckoned it is the worst bike they have made and he will not seel them as they are back for repair consistantly. The can am looks a nice enough bike though i havent tried one. I would go for a honda or a yamaha

I had a swb 3.2 shogun 02 reg. Pull well, accelerated well. Heavy on the juice, low twenties 25 at best, I thought expensive to service and repair. Wife did one trip to glasgow and back and vowed never to get in it again, as she reckoned the seats were so uncomfy. Good off road, especially with All terrains on. Lots of folk think they are great, but for me I would have to look at something else.

Evening All, I have the chance to take on some ground that has historically been used for a semi commercial shoot. The numbers talked about were 1500 birds in about 500 acres. Couple of questions, is that a sensible amount of birds for the land area Could you make a return on that acreage. What would it cost to buy and bring on 1500 birds. All thoughts welcomed. Cheers

Evening Folks, Can anyone suggest a good pair of trousers for rough shooting, pigeons, stalking in. Oh and they cant break the bank either. All suggestions welcomed

Now that picyure shows a disco III probably grounded out by someone that doesnt really know what they are doing, Not sure what that shows apart from bad driving. Put the shogun astern of it in the same position and I am sure you will have the same result. Not really a very accurate portrail of capability. I have had a 90, 110 crew cab two disco's a Ford ranger and a SWB shogun, how do they rate. On Comfort I will take my Disco II, the shogun was horrendous for an expensive motor, and for servicing or parts lets not even go there. The ranger was grand for throwing stuff in, but got stuck fa

check on a nissan forum, or check out difflock.com. Navaras have a history of blowing engines, I can think of three or four that all went around 80k, and they had all been looked after

I had one working in Trinidad and it was a pile of scrap, never heard such strange noises coming out an automatic, we binned after a couple of weeks, best move we made.

never done it from a canoe but used to be a fishermen, and done my fair share of close calls. When we were about 12 we had a ten foot dinghy and tried shooting lobster gear of it, and cam very close to having to swim for it. After that we made a raft and towed that behind, and then shoved the creel off the raft, probably just as dangerous but we were young and foolish. Those light foldables will work, but if you get any kind of rumble on teh shore they will be detroyed, you just need to look on the peirs around teh coast to see what damaged creels there are lying about. If you can find a ni

be careful at the crab and lobster, where the lobbies hang about around the coast, is usually on hard scabby ground and many a man has come a cropper in these parts. Great fun but get local advise before you go, and dont shoot gear on top of any full time fisherman as tehy get mighty p****d off. If you are looking at a canoe remember that lobster gear is heavy and depending on your boat may give you stability problems. Just my tupence

I have a .243 WIn at the moment, but I broke the scope slide and I am looking at aound £300 to get it fixed so was considering getting a new rifle instead and teh dealer had one of these that he was trying to sell. I was not convinced though that is why i posted the question. Any othe thoughts. On another note does anyone shoot a mauser lightning with the single pull action? And have they had any trouble with it.

Afternoon all, Was just in the local dealers and he has a lovely browning .243 in the WSSM calibre. The blurb claims a far faster, harder hitting bullet , and a fair bit flatter in the trajectory. Is anyone using this calibre or know anybody who is. Any views can folk let me know. Cheers

My grandfather used to put a dog that chased sheep in a high sided pen with the tups. The dog never worried or even looked at sheep again. I am not usre if this is teh right approach, and probably works along similar shock/pain as teh collar

I had a Kawasaki 360, 2 / 4 wheel drive automatic. Great bike for running around and working with sheep or cattle as teh speed was great. Absolutely hopeless for towing, would tow teh empty trailer but could not pull a full trailer or pull anything up hill. When I get my new bike it will probably be a 400 Honda

I have just spent the last few weeks driving the old shape and the new shape. The old one was an absolute shed. I have never driven anything as un comfy. There was no room in the back, the steering was like driving an old gray fergie, it was crap. The new shape one however was comfy, pretty quick of the mark, plenty of space and I am thinking about buying one. The only bad thing was the top of my rig boot kept popping the fuel cap open

Thanks for the reopening Ian, I was gutted this morning when I went into work and saw the notice. Thisis the best place on the net for meeting people and learning. I havent posted much and only been around for a few weeks, but have met several decent blokes to offer help and advice. Keep up the fantastic site I dont know how you do it but you manage to sneak past our barriers at work that block every other hunting site. WELL DONE.
