    Another result for the pup iv found a small area that seams to have early stages of Myxi. So it has come in handy for a bit of retrieving training.

    The dog has more pace than the bitch he really is impressive, Even with there ears laid flat back and a good head start he will close in rapidly. His catch ratio is very high on all quarry on all ground. His prey drive coupled with his scenting abillity will often take him well out of sight. This makes him not everyone's cup of tea as even on the lamp he takes most of his quarry we'll out of the beam. The bitch on the other hand is fast enough on the lamp and dose this job in the more conventional manor. Day time she is very at home in woodland , on a hill side or dales. They both have plenty

    Ive done a bit of all sorts with Finn in his younger days but he was a yard short of pace for the fast stuff, but if another dog could force a turn he was always close enough to steam role over the quarry. A broken knee robbed him of even more speed but he is fast enough for mooching, lamping and hunting up. He is and always has been at his best out with the terriers. The bitch on the other hand is more than fast enough for anything day or night and is incredibly tight behind her quarry. I have only just started her on the lamp and she is picking it up really well. Next task is to introduce he

    All from the line have excellent temperament with people and animals. Finn is at least 24" and Jill will be all of 23" I will stick a tape on them to see. Although she isn't the biggest she has excellent pace and stamina. Which must come from her sire.

    These are two of the pups from this litter 3/4 wheaton '1/4 greyhound. The larger of the two is Finn the dog and the other is Red the bitch. The bitch in the picture (Jill) with my son is out of Red and will be going to Finn next year.

    Yeah to keep the line going. The bitch in the picture is Jill she was given back to me so I could put my old dog to her. Pay is the wheaton bitch. Paddy is the first cross Wheaton/greyhound. I've just recently discovered the picture of the dog (thanks to spindle to) he was owned by Darryl Thomas and has his picture was in the book Digging the Dirt 3.

    Has your mate had him from a pup? I lost touch with a pup I bred that went to the North wales area but he would be older than 4. This was his sire to a wheaton bitch.

    This bitch is Jill saluki greyhound to a bitch I bred 3/4 Wheaton 1/4 greyhound. Very sensible and very easy to live with.

    This was my pic bitch at birth as she is the image of her mother. But as the developed the chocolate bitch seemed to hold more collie blood and her personality suited me better. Looking at how this bitch is growing she looks like she will be a useful stamp time will tell.

    Yeah the pups are four month old now. This is the bitch I kept back. She picked up and retrieved her first rabbit yesterday. It had myxi but it all counts. She picked it up without hisitation the retrive was a bit clumsy ,but she came straight to me only stoping to get a better grip of it. I had my camera but as usual panic took over as I had the wheaton bitch (Jill ) with me and had to leader her and tie her to the fence.

    Dam Meg 24"tts excellent pot filler equally at home working to the gun. She was sired by Fuji's Don.

    Thought I'd start a thread to show the progress of this litter. So here goes sire Max. First cross collie/greyhound 26" tts. He is a %100 single handed all rounder dog.

    I dont suppose either of you can remember the place they came from or the guys name you got them off. Just interested as i know a couple of people breeding these crosses in the area at that time.

He is the type of dog that you'd love any collie haters to try and work there dogs along side. Now the question is can he produce offspring of an equally high standard.

    That is a fine example of a lurcher. Looks well. How tall is he?He is about 26" I've not measured him to be honest. Here are s few more of him.

    Totally agree with this post. It is hard to loose the terrier gate in a first cross. My 3\4 reverse dog put to a greyhound produced a litter of pups that ranged from 24" to 27" and all had a good turn of pace and moved well. The larger of the pups where a little light for my taste though. They where of a similar stamp to the older dog at the top of the page. Thats just going of the picture if they where side by side it might be a different story.

    Some sensible advice here at the end of the day they aren't machines judge each dog on its own merit..
