  1. But remember, it only takes three balls to break a clay, it takes a few more to kill game !
  2. if i upset you mate, as 1 of the estate farmer asked me if i had my shotgun with me to scare them off, which i did not so i scared them with .22 Rimmy and had 2 lucky shots  there was over 200 in the field i dont think the farmer would have been to pleased if i said no i cannie i have the wrong gun because when he drives the tractor towards them they just move to another field, so will be going down on Boxing Day with decoy's + 8 bore + 12 bore and get a few Gray's, again wont do it again Merry Xmas and a Happy New Year 2010 Well suppose you are doing the right thing in going bac
  3. Im interested in the amount of members on here with firearms. Just a little poll to see what the figures are
  4. With a shotgun of current UK spec you are not going to get the extra one in without a bit of engineering. Obviously, in many other countries more carts are allowed, and the manufacturers have a way of dealing with this. Best not to play with it unless you want to go down the FAC route!! Yess, i have considered an FAC, but i think il wait until im 17, then it will be much easier to buy my own guns and ammo
  5. What i mean is a 3" semi auto would have say 7.5" in the magazine. Making it 190mm divide by 3 = 63 making it a 3+1
  6. OK got you on that one. But wouldn't the magazine spring be fully compressed and don't some semi autos have an extra bit of space t stop the spring from being fully compressed
  7. Sorry, just a though, i was just sat thinking when this crossed my mind. If you've got a semi-auto chambered to 3inch (76mm) that could only hold 2 in the mag and one in the chamber, if you were to out 65mm carts in the mag, wouldn't you get 3 in making the semi auto 3+1, making the shogun illegal, or am i wring, sorry, just when i think about these things, it really bugs me, i mean iv been sat with the tape measure trying to work it out
  8. If you dont mind spending the money then get some, the plastic ones are good i hear.
  9. Thats you opinion mate, and im fine by it . Id rather not write my opinion yet as it might 'spark' a few and i don't want the topic to get locked if you get what i mean
  10. A question sent in to sporting shooter. Q. I have a 3 shot semi-automatic gun and have been invited on a pheasant day. Can I use ir or should i use a different gun? A. Neville Grill replies. You shouldn't take a semi-automatic on a driven day for a number of reasons. The first is that most of the other guns will only have two barrels and thus two chances at a bird. You, however, would potentially have three shots, so your fellow guns might feel you should pay 50% more!. Secondly, when not on your peg its important to be able to show to guns and beaters that the gun is unloaded, which
  11. It was £390 but i got it for £375. A bargain if you ask me. Naaa, thats my brothers bed, hes a lazy bugger and hardly ever tidies up anything
  12. Yes, of course. In fact you can tell if there are rabbits home by using the snow. If you haven't got a dog with you it help. Iv also heard rabbits bolt better in snow but im not sure if this is 100% accurate.
  13. Well, went to pick my new shotgun up on saturday. It was a Smith & Wesson 1000 Semi auto 12 bore. It has a 26" barrel, 3 shot and cycles VERY WELL. I was shooting 28grams on clays and not one jam, In fact haven't had a jam yet. It shot from 28gram to 36gram very well, it has a very fast cycle and not as much recoil as expected, and im used to my 20bore. I simply cannot wait till I take it out ferreting or on a walk on a shoot ( beater shoot) I really do love this gun already and will be keeping it for a long time. Anyone who's got the chance to get one should and you wont regret it, CRACKI
  14. Stand on the two wing joints close to where the body meat the wing, and with the pheasants head infront of you give a slow strong pull on its legs upwards, this will pull the breast away from its guys and feathers, fast and clean way of doing it, I always use it and it works 90% of the time
  15. Went ferreting once with my mate. We netted up, 2 ferrets in, 2 bolts, one ferret in the box waited for the other one to come out, got her, in the box went to next set and she was dead. We couldn't work out why, maybe kicked in the head or something.
  16. To many lazy gits that cant be arsed to put time into their dogs, They shouldn't be allowed to have dogs
