Just wondering if you can get snap caps for a .17 HMR have done a little bit research but all I can find is "dummy rounds" and apparently, these are not the same thing and will deform after a few pulls of the trigger?

Dwighet, Do you have to email them for a shipping cost or is it all done automatically when you pay online? -

Hi all, Just wanted to say "thank god" this forum is back online as so far it has been a lifeline to me! Being new to shooting/hunting, it's sites like this which can answer questions and provide recommendations for people unsure but eager to learn the correct and responsible way of doing things. This in turn prevents people, like myself making silly mistakes or being mislead into purchasing over expensive and unnecessary equipment. With reference to an earlier post, it may be a good idea to have a dedicated area which covers the more "frequently asked questions" (FAQ's) preventing

Has any body tried one of the A-Tec moderators on a .17 HMR? I have been looking at these and would like to know how they perform!

I think it all has to do with which eye is dominant! I'm right handed but left eye dominant, which means I can hit nowt with both eyes open! Instead I have to completely close my left eye whilst shooting, once somebody pointed this out to me the difference was immediate! Hope this helps!

I live and work in Norway so things are a little different for me, I have to take a hunting exam, (known in Norwegian as the Jegerprove) the same as all Norwegians who wish to hunt. It's basically 50 multiple choice questions and you have to get 40 correct to pass, the exam covers all aspects from species recognition, hunting seasons for species, legal terminology, weapon safety etc!. If I pass the exam I can then apply for any type of firearm I wish, be it shotguns or rifles! If your English and you want to hunt in Norway, (short stay/hunting trip) as long as you have the necessary li

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone If anybody is considering hunting in Norway and is unsure about anything, please feel free to contact me and I will try my best to get you the information you require. Happy hunting Jonathan

Well I've already made a few post on here and received some great help from the members on the forumn, so I thank you all for that To introduce myself I'm British, from Co. Durham originally but have been living and working in Oslo, Norway for the last 3.5 years. I'm taking my hunting exam this week and then I'm all set to endulge myself in the Norwegian wilderness and what it has to offer. If the hunting is as good as the fishing I've experienced, I'm in for a real treat If there are any Norwegians on this forumn who would like to meet up, feel free to get in touch. I would we

Ok, Got my rifle and scope sorted, now I need a bipod. Was wondering what model you would recommend as I have never had one before? I have heard good things about the Harris Swivel Bipods! The rifle will be used mainly in a prone position! Also, can anyone recommend a good place to buy one in the UK? Cheers

Great point "dwighet" and now I have an excuse to buy two guns, one for iron sight shooting and the other for scope shooting! Thanks for that "sidesy" ordered one! Cheers everyone

Hi, I'm soon to buy a CZ452 .22LR, but I don't know whether to go for the Lux model or the Varmint. The gun will be used 75% at the range and 25% for small game. I have read that with centre fire rifles after a couple of shots the "standard" barrel can heat up and affect accuracy, is this the case with rimfire?

Sorry, Should have posted this in the "Reloading, Optics, Ammunition & Accessories" forum, any way I can move it? -
I'm after a Simmons Whitetail Classic 6.5-20x50 mil-dot reticle. I've seen them on MidwayUSA for $130 but don't want to pay all the import tax cos money is pretty tight at the moment. Does anyone have a contact in the US who could post it over to me, they could put it up on eBay and I would pay via PayPal so everything is legit? Any help would be appreciated? Cheers
