243_stalker I'm British but I live in Oslo, Norway. The 6.5x55 over here is used for game as small as hare and capercaillie up to moose, so I don't think you'll have any problems taking a red with it. If you interested in bullet choice, the Lapua Mega is very popular over here and is used on roe, red, boar and moose! I don't think you'll regret a 6.5x55, I have a Tikka T3 Varmint Stainless in 6.5x55 and I'm very happy with it. At 200 yards it has the punch but you have to do your part with the shot placement Enjoy... it

Hi, I have a Tikka T3 Varmint and was wondering if I can make the stock adjustable like the one on the Super Varmint. Looking at the pictures of the two, they look very similar and the Varmint has the hole in the stock but it is filled with rubber! Has anybody tried to make their stock adjustable? Regards Jonathan

Hi, Just bought a load of reloading equipment second hand off a friend as I'm about to start reloading. To cut a long story short there is a lot of used brass which is tarnished that I would like to clean up before attempting to reload with it. Does anyone have any recommendations/advice on the best low cost methods, I've heard these ultrasonic cleaners are all the rage? Cheers Jonathan

I'm going to take it to a gunsmith so he can have a look and hopefully give me some advice! Apparently it has been used for years in this state and there have been no problems! and it is a heavy barelled target gun so I'm thinking it should be ok! Have got two plans in my head: 1) (easy - cheap!) Fill the filed area and re-black the barrel 2) (hard - expensive!)Remove the filed area, obviously this would be done by a gun smith and depending on the cost migh be more work and expense than it worth! So..... any advice on stock refurishment, will I need to remove the original o

More pics So do you think the barrel is safe, how much would it cost for a new one? I was hoping I could do something with this barrel, don't know if there is the metal equivalent of "Polyfilla"

Thank you for the fast replies I'll stick some photo's up as soon as my camera battery has charged Forgot to mention that I actually have two stocks for the gun. One appears to be the original stock and I also have a Mcmillan Bench rest stock ..... both need work !!! The McMillan stock has what looks like a home glass bedding job done on it and it looks pretty bad! The original stock also has a rubber but pad epoxied to the metal of the adjustable butt!! It don't look pretty, but it should clean up nice! The gun was purchased from a friend here in Norway, he received i

Hi, I recently aquired an Anschutz Model 54 Super Match .22LR as a project to keep me busy over the winter months. The stock is not in the best condition so I was thinking about doing it up and wondered if anyone had any advice or links to point me in the right direction? ....also, the barrel has a small area which has been filed flat, what I can only assume was to accomodate a scope with a large objective, does anyone know if you can refill the flat area? I've never refurbished a barrel or a stock before so please be gentle with me I look forward to any replies and will post

Hi, I've just recently bought a Bushnell Elite 4200 4-16x40 second hand. I'm soon to sight it in on my rifle, but I have a question regarding the original position of the lenses - if that makes any sense! I can see from the dials that they are numbered, I can see numbers 1 to 6 at the moment, I know they go further but I don't want to screw them too far incase I break it I don't have the manual and I can't find one online! I was wondering what was the original position of the dials before any adjustments had been made? I have the Burris Signature Zee Rings with the insert

My set up is for a CZ 452 .17HMR so may be different to yours mate. I have a dovetail to weaver rail I purchased from Rimfire Technologies in the US. I then purchased the Burris Signature Zee Rings (Weaver Style) in High (Product Code:420531) Haven't had a chance to try them out mate as my weapons permit still has not come through I'll ping you a message with the results when everything is set up! -
Sent him a PM a few days ago but no response! Just wanted to get an idea of how much he was charging for the covers..... looks like I'll go down the inner tube route!

Try an old bicycle inner tube cut to size, as big a diameter wheel as possible, not a dinky little kiddies bike There are a number of propriatory sleeves available as well!!!! Thanks, Think I'll go with the inner tube option, I'm sure the GF has an old bike in the basement she doesnt use Cheers Jonathan

Hi, Yes I received my order in about 7 days! Don't know why they have taken so long with you! When they posted my package I received an email form USPS to say the parcel was collected and this included a tracking number so I could track the parcel! I'm sure it will turn up soon, maybe they were just waiting on some stock coming in! -
I had a friend of the family who was on medication for depression. When they decided to apply for their shotgun license, basically all the police wanted to do was contact the doctor and ensure they were in a stable state of mind and no risk to themself or anyone else! In a nut shell it's down to the doc's report! They got the shotgun in the end so everything worked out well! I hope it goes equally as well for your mate!

I've just ordered some Burris Signature Zee Rings with Pos-Align Offset Inserts, these allow you to change the POI without having to make large adjustments on the turrets, just small ones to fine tune! There is also an insert with gives you 20 MOA change at 100 Meters! so it sounds like they could be right up your street. There's a little video explaining how they work on the link below: Burris Signature Zee Rings Another plus point is they don't damage/mark your scope! Hope this helps J -
just use some old cases mate That's what I was thinking mate, just thought it would "look nicer" if there were some proper snap-caps available for them! Potential business opportunity for somebody
