  4. Had afew wires out at the weekend not the biggest catch but some.the snare wasnt set for the hare fox had a good feed just shows these hoops snares can hold
  5. I'd say they both have there places.hoops where the ground is soft and peg wont hold and pegs for the harder ground although i'v used hoops on really hard ground

  7. i spin my snares with a cordless drill but i found you have to do it nice and slow so you dont over spin the wire you dont want them spun like wire rope,it looks good tho mate all the best with them
  8. orf is very common wi sheep,as for soil in silage to much soil can kill a cow which you dont want especialy if your a dairy farmer. heres a pic of a rabbit i caught in a snare which had orf
  9. The shop bought ones like rabbit snare tend to hve not that big of loop
  10. potatoes mate,you can see there beats on soil just like grass this is were the hoop snare will come in handy as the soil will be soft and pegs will just pull out
  11. well done good on you. them shop bought snares must cost you a bit though, if this is going to be a regular thing your better off making your own. to many joins in them comercial snares ,and weak points wouldnt mind learning how to make my own fox snare but if you have any goin to a good home i'd take them off you
  12. Well i'v been trying to snare foxes for awhile now and this morning on checking my snare i had caught 1,a nice wee vixen. had to pull her out the hedge to get a good pic of her.
  13. i agree with snareman the country is a joke,town near me is full of pols that get everything handed out to them houses the lot.i'll not be stopping snaring
  14. nowt wrong with the nets you know what they say bad workman blames his tools to busy trying to untangle them 4z nets that tangle as soon as u look at them ,get some spun poly 1s

Me and auld salmon were out on saturday wi the old stinkies,not the best of days for bolting we had to dig for a few.We done a hedge row wi the longnets managed to bolt a few out of there then we moved on to a nice warren about 12 holer on the edge of a wood we managed to bolt afew out of this but i lost 2 anyways not a bad day out managed 19 but give 1 to an old guy so thers only 18 in the pic.

  19. Was out today ferreting for a few hours with my brother Lindsay. We were on some new land, managed to bag these six.
  20. i have a couple of light green coloured nets i use for ferreting and night netting and they catch no problem
