    pity about the folder as i would have recomended buck vanguard regardless of price ,however maybe try a buck kalinga pro ,can get them in a folder i think ,also in s30v steel which in my opinion should be a very good steal,i hunt with 6 to 10 other hunters ,most have got buck vanguards ,we mostly hunt sambar deer so all knives really get used hard.good luck.

  7. i used to have one years ago and they did the job ok,i bit prickly for me (the wool content ) i use ridgeline stuff now ,light, warm ,and if wet doesnt take long to dry out,made in new zealand i think.cheers.
  8. im bob,live in australia with my partner,got four kids from two mums,im 52 have a beagle dog and hunt sambar deer with him almost every weekend from april to november.planning a trip to england/wales/ireland next year sometime.cheers

  10. thanks gimli,my partners parents came from wales,she raves about this sloe gin that her dad used to make ,i did a mild bit of looking for sloe berries a little while ago but no luck now you have urged me to search some more and attempt to make sloe gin .could buy some i guess but not the same as making your own.yes our sambar is the indian variety although it has taken extremely well to our climate . whilst we have large numbers they are very ellusive.i hunt every weekend ,mostly with scent trailling hounds,beagles or bloodhounds otherwise stalking.thanks for sharing your recipes regards,scrub
  11. mine never gets fed the night before,keep em lean and keen ,and avoid any twisted bowl problems.rewarded after the work is done ,that way he always remembers what his job is.
  12. damn thats a good start, great story,sounds like a great meal any more info your marinade maybe i will try it sometime. my favourite is sambar backstrap on a tray ,covered with mustard seeds ( just like you would cover it with clay) then cook until rare as will keep cooking when rested.cheers from aus.

    has anyone fitted a video camera to a dog .ebay have them for just under 200 bucks ,just a bit of mucking around fixing it to his head but would be interesting to see where he has been.

  15. thanks all,will visit the site whenever time allows ,friday nights im gone ,bush ,,swag ,fire ,couple of beers,mates ,up before daybreak ,hunting.can,t get much better than that ,home sunday , same again next week .Our deerhunting season (with hounds ) runs from march to november then fishing takes over,good life eh!.ok ,cheers .scrubworm.
