Hello, i'll be getting a BSA XL Tactical in May, i will be wanting to hunt fairly quickly so my first questions are, Should i get a 177 or 22, my main hunt are birds but i hunt rabbits too, my dad will support the rabbit hunts with his 22? Will May be a good time to hunt plenty or lack of birds and rabbits at that time? Some optional Questions also Are feral pigeons as good to eat as woodies? And is the BSA Xl Tac a good choice as my back up is the Bsa Lightning. Thanks in advance

My house is a hot spot so its quite fun when i'm not doing much and i see the pigeons went through a phase where i got a pigeon a day for 2 weeks from my garden alone. But yeah along with most of you woods or tall grass...lots of cover....stealthy is my way. Sarge,

i just got my mate into the hunting buiss got him a 4 x 20 only £8 was SMK to. EBAY gotta love it.

yeah the pigeon was in my big ass tree, shot it feel in to the garden and pellet when through the pigeon and into the branch behind it, so it was all good.

not the biggest but i use my 3-9 x 40, and usually i'm on 4-6, i only got to the max for open fields and that.

I think i killed my biggest pigeon the over day, it was about the size of my foot in the body alone and i'm a size 8, it's tail feathers added on another like 10 cm, was a fully grown adult and i happily nailed it in the neck, pictures soon! Sarge,

at first i thought it was a BSA 3-12 x 50, but then the knob above the eye peice isn't on the bsa, i'll get back to you if i see anything.

My freind's 4 x 20 scope fell off the gun, i tryed to put it back on but for some reason the mounts are no longer big enough for the rail...like they have been reduced over time....i guess that's what you get for a cheap scope
