cheers millet i just get frustrated when i lamp a rabbit and it squats i get within 10 feet slip the dog and she stays still.like i said she is fine when the rabbit runs and catches well. good hunting rew cheers juckler123 i will try anything to get her used to taking squatters. good hunting rew why are you also having the same problem

when out lamping with my lurcher bramble she will chase and catch running rabbits but when we get a squatting rabbit she tends to stalk it in a fashion but will not take it while it is still.she will only strike at the rabbit when its running.we catch a fare amount of rabbits on lamp but lose alot because she cant take squatters.has anybody else had this problem with there lurchers and how did you rectify it.any advice would be very much appreciated. good hunting rew

thanks for the replies.the dog in the video is 3/4 greyhound x 1/4 beardie collie.she didnt start catching rabbits untill her second season but as you can see she does the job and is also turning into a cracking little ferreting dog as this is her first season being worked with the ferrets.i film whilst my dads lamping and vice versa.i know it is hard to film a hawk on lamp but it may help using a lamp wih a wide beam and not a spot beam.

thanks there are no windows so they is plenty of air.i think this pics were taken during the summer in the evening and you can see there is plenty of light.but during the summer months i put them in there run all day. good hunting rew

heres a couple of pics of my hutches and run made by my dad.access to the top hutch is by lifting the lid (roof) which makes it easier when cleaning and getting to the ferrets.acces to the bottom hutch is by the drop down front or by the small door to the left which opens to the bed. i keep the run on the concrete path as it helps keep clean and keeps thier nails down.i put in tubes to keep them occupied and access is from the lift up door on top. good hunting rew

if i could only have the one (longnet) or (purse nets) it will always be purse nets as there is no where i can use a longnet near me but i have been told ferreting with longnets saves time but is also fun. good hunting rew

to all who are moaning about the dvds,why dont you go out and buy the original.what cant you AFFORD it.your the owt for knowt bregade.i have seen some of these dvds and they are not the best quality but they are watchable so what do you expect as they are only cheap. rew

thanks for help,i am going to try it because they is a good warren in the middle of a field but is very close to a house. i do prefer ferreting in the day but thought i will give it a try ferreting at night.i probably give it a try in the middle ofnext week if the sky is clear. thanks again good hunting rew
