    everybody has there own expectations on terriers,so long as they do what you want of them then you should be happy,but of course not all make the grade!

    every dog is different rodsmith,some bay,some hard but there is a dog for each job,every earth and situation is different.but have seen bayers come unstuck.

    have had a few fighters in my kennels over the years but wont have them any more they normally turn out the worst at work i have found.

    jasper65,not many pure blue backs are use any more they normally cross them with something else to make them hold a bit better like a black neck or something.a couple of estates round here still use pure blue backs but have a large chunk of land to hold them there are other options like fen birds who perform very well without wanting to walk off as much.

    simoman they suffer with a few problems,try unplugging the mass air flow senser on the intake if it improves change the senser,also they have a gear/neutral switch in the gear box which goes basically tellf the module when the cars in a gear so you cant over rev it in neutral even a manual.

    I would appriciate to hear about some of those people and see their dogs! Really! ATB, Anna just seems to be big names mentioned,you wont get told about genuine digging lads who breed for themselves on here i am afraid.they keep quiet bout things.there are some very good russells out there if you look hard enough that are not bred by show men and big names.

    i fully agree with these big names breed and have bred good dogs but there are alot of good working russells bred and worked by unknown terrier men.quite often in my experiance they can make a better dog!dont rush in a buy a big named bred russell they are not always the best.

    milner off road mate they do alot of jap import parts and very helpfull.have used them for many years through work.

    b and f is a hell of a tool to find but i dont think as accurate as pin pointing as an old knocker box.you can move it 12 inches sometimes over the top without changing,have gone down the side a few times now.

    am the same as you clachan,have to muck around with cubs as i will lose alot of estates but some dogs i have founs are good at doing them and had a couple that arent,even when there are still vixens still living in and out with them.every dog is different,one of my mates bitchs is a cracking digging dog but wont entertain any thing to do with cubs but he has just accepted this and the bitch still has its kennel space.
