  1. No doing alright without them, I tend to hunt alone, so it's a bit awkward. Well done though.
  2. Does this mean you'll be putting the ferrets into retirement.

  4. Totally agree with that.
  5. Wag if the wind is in the right direction you'll get up draft off a line of trees. Nice vid's out_hawking
  6. Cheers, he was only 30 - 40 foot up, glad you found it of interest, probably a bit boring if you're not into slope soaring harris hawks.
  7. Here's a video of the bird soaring today 2min long probably a quarter of what he was up for.
  8. Great looking bird Jasper, hope your problems sort them selves out, best of luck.
  9. I recon once he's start screaming you won't completely stop it, you can reduce it with the methods suggested. You might have to just put up with it until his second season when his voice will deepen and he'll sound like just another one of them crows. Rather than screaming think of it as calling. My MHH only calls when he sees me in the garden, I like to think this is excitement to go hunting rather than direct food association, but he associates me with going hunting which results in him getting fed off a kill so indirectly it is food association.
  10. Looks like you had a good mate.
  11. No feather this season yet but he has taken cock and hen pheasant, crow, jackdaw, rook, and moorhen, no mallard YET. Fraser, I got him from Hugh Haggarty at Highland Hawking. He hunts best at 605g at the moment, but has taken rabbit at 615g this season. now or never

Been there, done that mate. For a while in the early days my MHH would run along the ground after me waiting to be called the fist, these problems soon disappear when you start hunting, I wouldn't worry to much.
  18. If there's updraft off anything he'll find it and use it, I fly at a few quarries and if the wind is right you get excellent lift, he'll sit on the updraft scanning the ground below. He seem's enjoy flying in high winds, you see some excellent flight but not so great for hunting.
  19. Today's wind was in perfect direction for a bit of soaring, he then went on to bomb this rabbit.
  20. Cheers Lads, still not managed to get video of a kill.
  21. I'm really enjoying the season so far, my MHH has been bang on since day one, I'd like to share some photo's with you. 16 rabbits in three and half weeks without the help of dog or ferret, for those who say a MHH can't take rabbit Cheers for looking Fletcher
