  1. Lovely pictures there fella.
  2. Nice to see a good pack of hounds getting down to business. Its the riflemen you need to worry about picking of your sport. Their affect on your land can be serious. Shooting 6's and 7's and night soon leaves you with no foxes to hunt.
  3. Maybe the dog just has the jacking gene. reverse gear built in. If he's got heart he'll stay doing it, if he's weak hearted you have to take it easy with him. Every dog is different, you have to play it by ear and know what you have. Alot of lads like to think they have the dogs bollox, they're only kiddin themselves in the long run. If you've chosen the right pup their will be no jacking gene.
  4. Nice type that, very strong. Hope she works out for ya. Heres a young fell i have.
  5. Everybody will have diff opinions on this one. IMO if the dog was started i would dig it regularly in handy earths for the first season. The dog would only get one dig that particular day leaving the young dog as keen as mustard. If theyv'e taken a bit of stick they should be allowed plenty of time to heal and would never be worked sore no matter what. Thats the problem with a lot of lads in that they get a young dog started and continually work the dog sore therefore the dog eventually walks due to no fault of their own but the owner.

  13. well for me the reason that bull cross running dogs are so popular is that a lot of young silly boys just want out and out killing machines wich trueth be told there not all,a lot of responsible folk have them for good reason but too many silly boys are into them as well thus the huge popularity.now with a traditional type be that what it may for me any way is something thats clever vercitile loyal but harty and a dog to take most all at least all i can eat, good retreavers face cover and water do all manner of day and night work something that thinks well for its self.that why traditional cro

  16. I use small coal bunkers. Cut a hole in the front of them. Very handy cleaned out to with the lid on top. But a black dog took a disliking to his and has extended is doorway considerably

  20. The terrier show was poor, up in the north theres not many working dogs at the shows which is for obvious reasons but the dogs that are winning rossettes aren't workers.
