  1. happy days then am going out now again at the weekend and am gonny bring my camera with me so hopefully will have a few good pic's
  2. well Frankie i have no bother comming up to pull ye out of a tight spot sure i will bring the terrier.
  3. Dont care what anyone says a dog can have a bad day its not a machine (well most anyway). As long as its not a regular occurance then ur grand.
  4. was out yesterday with a dog i had on trail and she impressed, firstly as soon as we let her out into the field she started to hunt up and then when we hit one she went in and there wasnt a sound from her the whole dig. It was only a 3ft dig so we gave her a while with it but she had it in a deadend and didnt move and even sound once, when we broke through she had the fox pinned against the burra i'd say if we had if left her with it longer she would have killed it. Will get pic's up of the bitch
  5. [banned Text] 100% eamon. If a dog is interested in the first deadend then imo there is no need for a second.
  6. makes sense to keep as much beer tokens as possible. But if every1 else is in the tent site its worth staying in for the laugh.
  7. Never seen a fox running and stopping to turn on a dog. That story about the lurcher running up to a fox and it not moving and then killing the dog no harm mate but that sounds like a load of shit. Every fox i have had on he lamp doesnt get enough time to stand up but in saying that i have seen a couple of bad lurchers lift a fox then drop it and the fox blow himself up and spit and snapp but everytime i have seen that they dont stay long enough thats when they make a break for it and then the dog goes to the vet the next morning.
  8. In my opinion the dog is too young yet wait til the start of next season and show the dog a dead end then on the next dig let the dog see he fox going back to ground and let him in right behind it and thats one way of starting some people start with using an older dog and the younger dog but its better to start a dog on its own
  9. who is all going to the midlands in september. Me and a few mates are going we are gonny book a spot at the tent site and i was wondering what the crack was like at the site after the show is over haven't been yet so either way it will be good crack.
  10. it comes down to factors doesnt it, i mean if ye have a dog that ye know is proven but he jibbs then ye can always give him the benefit and try him again shortly but if a dog hasnt shown any good signs and jibbs in a short space of time ie: between diggs then imo its pts
  11. anychance of getting a copy burned up
  12. can anyone reconmend a good digging dvd, got one of ebay but the quality is crap have a few warrener and they just annoy the crap out of me in a few of them there is 3 and 4 dogs to ground .

  14. if ye can get an old 50p coin when they are pups cut at that length this is usally spot on, not too short and not too long
  15. am asking cause i got a new terrier he is 16 months old and the brother has dug 5/6 foxes and each fox he was wrapped round them. 16. I'm great at bushing, always seem to get the badger in my mouth!!!!
  17. Everytime i have seen pic's of great ratting days with rat numbers around the 100-130 mark there is always at least 10 terriers there so when you average out that it works out at around 10-12 rats a terrier form the day. So where is the hard test for a ratting terrier. On the other hand when a terrier is working to ground it will often find himself faced with quarry bigger and more powerful than himself, and for him to hold that in one spot for a day is a proper test of the terriers fitness, working ability, mentle state and desire to WORK. I have seen 5 month old terriers kill rats without an
  18. whats the smallest and whats the largest terrier you have worked and which do you prefere. Are you of the opinion that a bigger terrier is better or do you think a small terrier can work just aswell.
  19. £5 here and 10 euro's if ye go over the boarder
  20. hi its not just the tinkers that be at all that crap, there is probably more so called "dog men" at it.
  21. get lincon oil ye can but it in a pet shop about £4 for a big bottle ye onle have to add in bout 1-2 teaspoons a day and that gives the dogs a great coat. It is cod liver oil refined so it has alot of other added benifits
  22. I have a mk2 and i dont even bother to take it out its just laying there gathering dust. A mate has a mk3 but not with the pinpoint and they are the same as a mk2 dead on for finding the dog but for depth i put them about a foot out. We where out on sunday and i got a up close look at the b&f for the first time collar is abit bulky looking but the lad that ownes it says no bother with it so am gonny get myself one, ye can buy a box on ebay for roughly £150 and if ye know someone with a b&f ye can get them to order ye a collar, apparently ye need a ref number to purchase a collar and y
