  6. hello am looking to get a lurcher but dont know what type to get. i want a lurcher that will be good for bushes, ferreting, lamping. i want a small bitch that is under 21 inches tts or smaller but dont know what the best cross would be. opinions please
  7. forgive my ignorance, but surely to find a punctured bowel, they would need to open him up, then send home same day with antibiotics they did xray on the ferret after they found his bloods fine. the vets sed alls he could see was a cloud which means the fluids are leeking out his bowel and floating around. he isnt out of the woods yet as he has to go for antibiotic jab at vets everyday for next week. then if he is no better they are going to put him down. but fingers crossed he is looking better evrytime i check him. eating more now without being sick. he only weight 500g at vets yest
  8. hello. had the hob down to vets first thing this morning he was kept in for blood tests and a punctured bowel was found. the vets give me some antibiotics and the ferret seems to be picking up already. hope i dont loose this boy as he is great little ferret
  9. sorry to hear [bANNED TEXT]. think the same might be happening to me as my ferret is in vets with what they think is a tumor. good little worker aswell
  10. never had to take a ferret to the vets. how much does a trip to vets cost
  11. hello. i have a two year old hob. and two jills. both the jills are in season and will be ready for mating next week. one jill normaly lives with the hob but i noticed about a week ago that the hob was not eating and there was sick in the sleeping area. since i have seperated the two the hob still is not eating and is still lying around being sick. has this got anything to do with jills in season or not? opinions please.
  12. i often go out with my ferrets and use purse nets. but i am thinking about getting a longnet. what is the difference between a longnet and a speedset longnet and is the speedset worth the extra money?
  13. i have 4 ferrets. 1 albino hob, two albino jills and a polecat jill. prefer jills because they are small enough to go through the nets without tangling them. i prefer albinos because i find them more tame and easier to see.
  14. thanks. but how will ferretone get her off
  15. got a ferret off a man yesterday. he sed it has never bit him before. it was fine this mornin when i put it in its new hutch for the first time, but tonight when i try to pick it up it just keeps trying to bite. even when i tried to feed it as i put its dish in it ran at my hand tring to bite it. i have other ferrets and have had ferrets in the past but never had this problem. what do you think is wrong with her. do you think it is just till she settles in. let me know what you think
  16. i would really like to go beating but have not had the chance. so if anyone knows of a place that wants beater could they plese let me know thanks
  17. 5 month old. got to go because of no fault of his own
  18. i always thought u should start ferreting around the end of october, the first week in november. giving the rabbits a chance to grow up so i dont kill young. but i have noticed around my place and on here that lots of people are starting now. is it too sharp or can i go now. let me know what you think
  19. i am looking to buy a new ferret finder and i want to know what you think is the best one. i have a mk1 but i am thinkin about buying a mk3.
  20. i agree with you. i have tried to tell my mate that i would rather wait another few months, as i dont see the hurry to get the ferret working. not if it means he could get kicked about. i have the mother and father that we can use for now. the ferret lives at mine and i dont think me is mature enough as i caught a rabbit the other day and he seemed to not know what to do with it, i have a 15 metre pipe and i put the rabbit in it and when i put the ferret in he just wasnt bothered. so i had to put the mother in to get the rabbit out. there is still time for him to turn ito a good worker yet
