I was playing Bass, wearing white jeans, and riding my scooter here there and everywhere. I then got myself a VW twin carb, and my first running dog and did the same. At the time I loved eating kebabs, smoking B&H and drinking Fanta, Red stripe, Kroni, and Tizer. Had a crazy mop head too. My body was then showing signs of wear and tear, so I gave all of the above up apart from the dog and never looked back.

I brought 2 coats from Equafleece, they are of very good quality and will last a life time. Some people on here make me laugh.........poodles? All you ex fen dogs are Poodles My dogs are homo's and I'm proud of it!

Sounds like you had fun. Yes I was the same as you, only working collie/Greyhounds. I had only heard or read about other types, but once I saw another type of lurcher work (saluki and deerhound crosses) I was amazed with the difference in style and prey and commitment in the dogs. Alot of dogs stop at hedges. HF, I too have seen some dogs that will stop at hedges, and I've also seen people switch the beam off when the rabbit gets to a hedge. I dont, and find that if one gets to its hedge, if often will run along side it, and this is when the dog will pick it up. I'm not an out

Cheers Dan, the bitch is a 3/4 Greyhound, 1/4 Border collie from Hancocks Kubia Khan. She's a great dog to watch in action, and steady. I like her style of running, and her sharp pace.

Happy Ferret, yes I know the dog your on about. Johnny, cheers mate. Your right, sometimes we just have to chance whats there, and it's those nights I like, when you see your dogs really trying their best to catch.

Good dogman/woman is someone who understands a dog, it's needs, and must be able to spend a few readies if needed when injuries occur. The character of it's owner will reflect on the dogs performance and well being for it's whole life with you and around other people and animals. You may also also have to make some harsh decisions. I may also add, that you must go out and do some form of hunting with your dogs, and not just read lots of books and magazines. Learn off each other, and share your knowledge. It's not a big secret in owning a good dog.

Hello Tubba, I'm not sure if you have owned these birds before, or how much you know about them. Sorry if you do, dont mean to offend you. Theres some in the south at POL. There not good laying hens as such, not like a hybred. You after their looks, breeding stock? I use to keep them, the hens would lay a small white egg from time to time, but I bred them. True appenzellers are not cheap. Hope you find what your after.
