    There isn't much places in England were we've not been. I even gone as far as Spain and Sicilly to run my dogs! Now thats rough hunting ground!!! I aquired my dog from Yorkshire, stayed there 2 weeks had fun too. Dogs did really well. Northumberland too, beautifull place, lovely people, i liked it very much.

    From looking at your photo, the whippet looks a very muscular type whippet. Looked like it could of taken its fair share of knocks and bumps. The whippets iv'e seen are much more boney, small, fragile looking, that would not stand a good season on rough ground, hunting not (ferreting with nets) etc..... There was a chap here who owned a whippet, moved down from the north last year. His whippet ended up back up north due to the land here and the dog spending more time in the vets!! Lovely dog too. I'm with Reload on this one.

    Tell him he has no chance. The law at the moment for any type of firearm/shotgun license is nothing short of a joke. I run a game farm and have had a firearms licence for 10 years now and this year on trying to renew it they have said i cant because the piece of ground i have is not large enough to warrant a rifle license. It is now deemed to be unsafe yet for the last 10 years it has been ok. Same here, i owned a .243 at the time. I now own a .222, silly i know........

    How old are you? If you have received a custodial sentence of between 3 months and 3 years then you'll be prohibited for a period of 5 years from the date you are released. If you have received a custodial sentence of 3 years or more then you'll be prohibited for life, from the date of release. Its the anger management that might be a problem here. Health plays a major part in owning a gun.

    I wouldn't say your friend has NO chance. Its very slim mind you. Convictions can vary from 3,5,12 years depending on what conviction.

    If the land my way was 90% rough ground, then i would not be working a pure whippet. Have you taken into account what size fields, what quarry, can you afford the vet fee's? I know you say hilly and wooded! There is your answer, is it not? Mix the whippet blood, easy really. Dont just buy a "Whippet" beacause there are so many advertised near you and you like them. Yes if your going to keep it as a lap dog and show it!, but me i wouldn't work a whippet in those conditions.

    There's one Saluki around here that charges the lamp, goes off lamping, kills its quarry, skins and cooks them all by himself... Beat that! There not that thick as people make out they are. All to do with the one to one training! Like everything else.... Saluki x Grey x Sal/Grey/whip should do the trick. Maybe a little deerhound added to the mix........

    Thats cheap mate, but it's a soft top! Get ripped straight away driving through woods, loading the rear with logs, junk etc...... Why dont you advertise it on the Autotrader.I'm sure you will get much more than £800........

    Lightforce is like having a satalite dish in your hand! Clulight is small, light, very strong with a silent on/off switch. The beam for me is perfect, i dont think it's too wide, never failed. 20amp/hr is the way to go......

    Mine are taken out 3 times a day every day. The older dog will be worked at least 3 times a week on the lamp, but he also has his mooching during each day when out and about. As for the pup for now short regular walks and socialiastion.

    The questions are only strange cos I'm using the old 21 question rule to find out the original question, how did it get the scars? Seen similar scars from foxes but wouldn't think anyone would put a 7 month old pup on a fox! Anonymous, what dogs do you run or work?
