right, i have got nets and the pull cord ispretty long from thebottom of the net, it is 2 cords notted to gether several times and then you have a piece left over, so when pegging up do i put both pieces through the peg.

thanks everyone, i might take your advice stubby and leave the rifle, or in the car atleast and wait till the ferrets are away and everything paked up and maybe have a go then.. but thanks everyone for the help i am looking forward to it..

thanks for that scothunter. is it a case of trial and error. we are going in the afternoon i think, i know most of the warrens are coverd by brambles and nettles so he is going in the day to cut them down and shift them out the way and then i will go and we will start ferreting.

sorry mate i cant help you about the castrated hobs, i bought them like that but i think they have to have there first season and then they are ok.. im in newport and ferreting in cardiff.. thanks for all the help everyone. i dont now what size th warrens are or anything like that, so if they are 5-6 hole warrens then 1 ferret will be fine but if they are like 10-15 hole warrens wouldnt it be a bit much for 1 ferret... i dont have a clue see its all new to me i have had ferrets for a while but not been ferreting, im also taking my 177 bsa lightning, so will give thatago if i see a few i wil

thanks. i am taking my big hob poley, i am taking him because he is bigger and slower i am hoping he will be to slow to catch any rabbits under ground and they will bolt before he gets hold of them. i am taking 1 albino jill, i do have another 2 but they both had phantom pregnancys and have no lost all the weight. 2 silver hobs, both been castrated - not to keen on these though to be honest, long and thin. so not sure. i have only got 3 collars so they will have to take it in turns going out because i wont use them unless they have got a collar on. should i leave a silver and take another

well i have been invited to go and do a spot of ferreting in some alotments during this week coming, i am taking my rifle, but i think the best method will be with the ferrets, now i have never seen these alotments and dont know what sort of ground it is or anything. i jus want some basic advice what i need and should take. i have got 16 nylon nets but dont think i will be enough, so will have to see if i can afford to buy some before then.... unless someone is offering me some i dont have pegs, i dont know if you put the peg at the top or at the bottom of the hole. i am worried even tho

yh thanks stubby mate i planted a collar in the garden earlier, only at about 2 and a half feet and it found it no prblem well when i say no problem, i dug down for it bet went to deep and couldnt find it so i used the locator to find out where in the soil it had landed but i found it.. i also put a collar at the top of the garden and used the locator to find it... but with the 8ft collars, when i go over 8ft it goes all fuzzy abit like when you lose a signal on a radio it sounds a bit like that that.... is that normal.. thanks for the help everyone.

thanks,,,, for that... the collars take 1 battery but in the guarantee card i got it says u get 2 version collars one takes 1 battery the other takes 2 but they are both 8ft... i am really pleased with it tho.. if the collar is 8ft and finder 15 ft what depth will be the max 8ft

well, i bought that deben mark 1 ferret finder for 50 quid with 3 collars (i originally thought 2) and a ferret box for 50 quid.. i got told it was a good deal and to be honest i am really pleased, its all in good condition the finder has still got its original box. you cans ee it has been well looked after. BUT the box says its 8ft, but on the wheel it goes up to 15 so i assuming its 15 foot. i took off the back cover to see if it had a battery in, and it didnt, and on the wheel it says mk 3 so i am wondering if the wheel has been replaced for a 15ft mark 3 wheel (if there is such thin

lucy sod... i feal much more confident now, hopefully before the season starts i will get another collar or 2 because i have picked the 4 ferrets which i am going to work. i was so scared i would lose some.. but hopefully this would narrow the chances of that happening..
