some very good points there and i know what you mean as i run the NI working whippet club and we put on a few shows with a good turn out usaly but we put on a working whippet class where the dog must work but we end up with very few enteres very good points robert

your very right in what you say and you will never have a great worker if the movement is not there i would not breed of a dog that has fults ie bad jaw feet weak hind quarter and any one that knows abit about working dog would not breed any bad fuelts into there dogs but working abilty is very hight on the agenda of wants in your line most these show dog that are winning have been breed that long for looks in minded that i belive that would not have what it take to produce the goods in the field but can win a working lurcher show this is really the judges fult for picking out such dogs rarely

your right mate i dont know why they dont go into the greyhound game and make some money at it but then again they are at the top of the lurcher racing game and would be small fish in the greyhound game robert

ten years ago here in ireland walk around any lurcher show you could nearly say ever dog done some work but the thing now seems to be trophy hunting as all i seem to hear these day is my dog won this my dog won that very rarely a working dog wins in the show ring and even some the one that do work there dogs get them out once a week if there lucky and and bum and blow about it does any one eles get the feeling that alot of people breed no longer for working abilty and try to get the best looking or fatest dog around and then working abilty is next on the list for me it has to be worker to work

great dogs who do not know there limits would never be with out one now they are to much balls for there own good robert

i must be one of the lucky ones then mate i run one whippet at present and run him 3 nights a week on up words of 20 runs some nights double that whippets have far more stamina than people give them credit for as for feeling the cold i have never had one that felt the cold more than any other short coated dog now the feet that another ive never had any bother with my old dog had one knocked up toe but after 9 seasons hard work am i just a luck one or are there other whippets out there that do this robert

what real advantage do small lurchers have over whippets i belive these dogs are really under rated as working dog and can do every thing a small lurcher can do and most the time do it better whats your views on this robert

i belive you can not bleam the owner and say a dog is as good as you make it there are dog that i have see out over the last few months they have been tryed and test dogs but they would not make the grade in my yard for there owner the dog does the job but they would not suit my need i except a lot from my dogs robert

its all about the heart in the dog the ones that dout the gameness of these we dogs are the ones that have see there well breed bull cross pull up at a fox not a pritty sight when you think about the weight diffrence of a big lurcher and a whippet but not every whippet will take them but when you think that a whippet is twice the weight of a fox i dont see why people find it hard to belive that they take to odd one robert

did i say he was a fox dog he does take the odd one i dout there is many people that can say they have a fox dog a load say they do but see a fox may be every two weeks that is no claim to fame and defo not a fox dog robert

this is a great litter of pups out of great stock and in first class condation ive seen the gran dam to these pups and a great bitch she is and knows her job very well who ever gets these will not be disapointed robert
