Left a message on your phone mate. -
Selling this walnut stock .22 air rifle for £500 (compared to around £800 new) because I have little time for shooting any longer. This includes: Weihrauch silencer + x2 14 shot mags. Also will throw in a tub of 300 ultra magnum pellets (seem to work particularly well with this rifle). Bipod and scope in pictures not included. This rifle is in great condition, and last month had all the seals replaced on the cylinder. It's shooting smoothly at 11.6ft/lbs and is very accurate out to 45 yards easily. It also comes with the instruction manual and all the original bits and bobs for chargin

Don't forget the HM2, It has all the properties of the HMR however the range is a little less (not by alot though), ammo is cheaper than HMR, flat out to about 110yds. It's just an HMR projectile on a .22 case - Great little round

A few rabbits with the .22
SharpShooter14 replied to Fieldsports's topic in Rimfire, Centrefire & Shotguns
Might be an idea to produce a trailer so people know what they are getting so to speak. Just a short one that will show the different aspects you are covering and how they will appear on screen. e.g. fieldcraft, gutting/preparation, equipment etc. Great shooting by the way. -
For that sort of money you'd be looking at a Gen1 add on system and a decent laser. The add on can be easily taken on and off your day scope and depending on how good your scope is, can be as effective as a dedicated NV scope. Give these guys a call and they will get you a good deal: http://www.nightvisionsuppliesltd.co.uk/ I bought a setup off the owner (Geoff) for £550 and use it can be used easily out to 200yds. Good luck.

how good are mtc scopes?
SharpShooter14 replied to shottyscotty's topic in Reloading and Gun Maintenance
Swarovski, Zeiss etc. They're all very very expensive but you deffinetly get what you pay for. As for the MTC, some people find the crosshair to cluttered and unnecessary for deer. Also, they have very large turrets on them and I know people who have had difficulty fitting them in cabinets. But depending on how many rifles you have in your cabinet you can turn the rifle sideways. The Falcon Menace scopes have better glass clarity I think and aren't too pricey, however they also have quite large turrets on them and they don't lock into place, unlike the MTCs - so its quite easy to kno -
.17 What is the best moderator to buy?
SharpShooter14 replied to von's topic in Rimfire, Centrefire & Shotguns
Yes deffinetly... its ALOT better than the SAK. Especially if you are shooting near stables like I do then noise restriction is really important. -

Another vote for the ASE Ultra. SAK are exactly that, a sack of sh*t. You could pick up an ASE Ultra for less than £120, I think I got mine for £. -
I managed to get my FAC with .17HM2 on it just after my fifteenth birthday. The best way I found was to get a 'mentor' - someone who already has an FAC and is willing to show you the ropes, so that when you apply, you can say you have some understanding about the rifle and are safety conscious. A mentor can be anyone who owns an FAC, (mine was a mate of my dad). But if there is anyone on any shooting forums (including this one) near your area who are willing to let you use their rifle(s) then that is the best way to get an FAC. It also helps alot if you join a club, this also shows you

This may sound like a stupid question, but aren't pistols illegal in the UK?

Same here, they're great day scopes and work well with nightvision.

What Magnification
SharpShooter14 replied to SharpShooter14's topic in Rimfire, Centrefire & Shotguns
Anyone? -
What magnification do you have your scope on at night when using a lamp or nightvision? Thanks
-
I've got the Ase Utra, cost about £ and does a great job on my 17 rimmy. Not compared it to the DM80 but i've heard it's fairly similar if not better. Easy to stip and clean and doesn't weigh loads. Great mod in my opinion.

.22 or .17 hmr
SharpShooter14 replied to Big bald beautiful's topic in Rimfire, Centrefire & Shotguns
Just to mix things up abit, what are your views on the .17Mach2. I picked up my CZ .17HM2 about a month ago and can not fault it. It's accurate out to about 150yards on a very good day which is fine for me as most of the rabbits i shoot are from 70 - 100yds. You can pick up a box of 50 Eleys for £6 and HM2 doesn't have a lot less muzzle velocity than the HMR... it also does less meat damage than the HMR. Best of both worlds in my opinion and as i say: can't fault it. -
.22 or .17 hmr
SharpShooter14 replied to Big bald beautiful's topic in Rimfire, Centrefire & Shotguns
Nice video, I agree with him on his 'weapon of choice' for rabbits. -
the unit for £600+/- would be no good for .243 ranges.. the gen2 might do the job, but their.. Long eye relief model - with laser and mounting bracket Price: £2619.95 I disagree, I know many people who shoot foxes out to and beyond 200yards with that setup. HOWEVER, it depends alot on what IR laser you put on top of it. The more powerful the laser, the further it'll reach and therefore will reflect off further object and bounce back into the tube. I recommend the Dipol L3 IR laser. Not sure how much they retail for as I got mine for a special price off a friend.

Unless you're looking for a dedicated nightvision scope you can pick up an add on system and decent IR laser for around £600 at the moment. Have a look here http://www.nightvisionsuppliesltd.co.uk/merlintac.php

I was out lying in ambush recently i was thinking if a rabbit decoy would work. Like with pigeons - to prop their heads up and position them to make them look alive. Do you think it would make the rabbits feel safer/encourag them to stay out? Just an idea, any comment?

For .22lr on rabbits.

Hi all, I usually hunt during the mornings/evenings when its light, but i want to have a go at hunting during the night. So it's either nightvision and spending over £500 Or.... Buying a lamp, preferably gun mounted because i usually go alone. Which lamp do you find best for around £100? Thanks alot.
