    little update . here they are in the rought but finnished in terms of shape etc , roughed out with a quick etch to see what we had . then heat treating and tempering , this pic shows them tempering , i did it 3 times drawing it from tang and spine . i have gone to spring temper on the tip and recaso area because there fine blades and we dont want them snapping , but bending with a spring is a good idea , the blue is the spring temper , the bronze the harder blade temper . colourful in it ? this next one is after gringing and alot of polishing , the heat treating and quick etch will actu

    i think its because the recessive genes , skin conditions are common , an now guys are saying there is link to lack of substance in the pups , new to me but worth taking on board . like all things breeding as long as there is fresh blood added then it should be fine but reapeated over and over is asking for trouble .

    as i said before these are great !! it really does me good to see them anmd what you guys are acheiving . i might have inspired a good num,ber of knife makers on here ? im feeling dead low at the mo lads about the knife making thing i keep ballsing it up , so it gemuinly cheers me up to see you enjoying them . it would be nice to think this lot will turn up one day for the youger generation !

    not only that there a week old alot can happen yet !! they have more than a year or two to make anything yet !! what will you do if they dont make the grade ? refund ... i was told and i beleave this to be true that working dogs as pups are not worth alot of money because even the very best animals in the world are unlikly to produce carbon copies of them selfs (pitbulls greyhounds etc , very line bred from the best people can get there hands on ) the asking price is lower so that if they dont make the grade you have not lost everything and could source another . i dont think workers are £6

    im well pleased he covered brians litter sister with that dog (fenn russel x BLUE whippet ) could be the best mating this year !! im saving up now for one of the fenn russl x whippets !! on a seriouse knote the pups look well with some lovely fat pups in there , i must say the sire looks very lean , you can see every vertabre on his spine in that tie picture .. £600 is not over the top for whippets , just not working whippets the show dogs fetch that sort of money all the time , its just a cross over from the two at those prices . but some folks work whippets just not that hard core

    thanks guys , i think the gaffer sheaths compliment the knife perfectly . i could not make them and kev allways gets the fit and styling just right . all you have to do is send the knife and it comes back perfectly sheathed every time !! this lot are all 60% done , forged ,shaped , ground ,heat treated and tempered , polished and shallow etched . iv ordered the handle materials so they should be here any day . paulus , im sorry to say your dagger snapped and is un repairable !! so will have to start again on that sorry . the other negative is that one of the patterns is to large

    no mate im unumployed and bankrupt !! just piss about with it really , iv fallen from the rat race and all but given up on trying to get back into it if im honest . i live off my mrs wages poor girl . seems like everyone is in the same boat nowadays .

    hi 7 is sold sorry . number one is a 3" i think deffo no more . il withdraw this lot tomorow and finnish them off i just bought new polishing mops and handle material . and iv goty kydex doing nothing . all the best

    yes it is mate . it dont look much yet tho pretty pattern in it .. im sat here with a freak arm swallen and not able to make a fist !! il solder on tho cos im rock hard ha ha iv been out and bout more gass this morning so will plod along todat and see where we get to .

    ca boom is what will happen ! mine are empty left with valve open for 2 weeks then the brass valve and tap removed left for 2 week filled with water for a week emptied and i put it next to a wood fire right out the way in the feild and let it get nice and hot . then when i get round to it i cut it up . there hard things to cut up and kane through discs .. like mickey said , safety first . iv allways wanted to make burners out of construction steel box section . you know the 8mm-12 mm stuff . there allways seems to be massive lengths of it at the scrapy . only need a 12mm mild plate

    well i seem to have damaged my elbow/ arm making this lot im in some proper pain from it !! no im not making a machette mate , it was a machette blade that i used to make the smaller billet . iv done 2 gut hooks and dont want to do any more , they are really hard to do and make a blade dead ugly i think ?? most of my knives are sharp as hell and you wont need a gut hook , just gently run the tip of the knife along an all the sausages come rolling out there is still a ton of work to do in this lot . tangs to weld normalising the steel anealing , grinding heat treating tempering , grindin

    i was told the same at the scrap yard when i asked to buy some more recently . i got these from a guy who used to be able to take them as scrap , i was told that is reasonably new legislation , and them old blue ones where pre that . i was also told that not all gas surpliers follow this legislation ??/ anyway il not be using any more as there are better things i now know i can use ! amasing work mickey i think its great . we will have to get old beer kegs if we want to make anything in the future , just have to mig / tig weld the stainless !!

    thanks fellas . just answer the questions the steels are 15n20 with o1 or an unknown carbon steel . and its all hand forged . i promise you will struggle find many if any that still hand forge , i wouldnt if i had the equipment !! out of the 1,000 world wide and thats a maximum , of people that can pattern weld im proud to say i can and by hand ! the patterns we have glimpsed in the pics are nothing . there all forged blades now so should be alot more intricate ! well thats the plan . i have one in the 4x twisted bars pattern that is similar to the damascus skinner i recently did , not

    thansk mike they will be on there way shortly !! there all ready to go guys just need handles if you want to do that . the stainless ones could be left as is very very simple . the shot blasting is why they look differant thats all everything else is the same as my other blanks , i want to try new finnishes and this is one that is tried and tested by others , the idea is that you dont get glare from the blade and you never need worry about scratching it . weirdly if you wanted to polish it the shotblasting helps as the sand paper will bite better into it . if you just went over it with
