  1. come on guys these are great blanks , rob took the risk of getting a proper heat treatment on the damascus knives (dangerouse with the pakistani damascus ) and all the problems assosiated with that where sorted . any warps have been ground out and the one that did crack has been shortened so that what is left is strong and stable . we even reshaped the tangs to fit our larger hands (inians must have miniature hands) and the one i made with the "prawn" handle is a great knife only 3 ever made one i gave to my fatehr in law (a full time wholes sale butcher) who said it was the most comfortable k

  14. il do you something this week in carbon , see if i can better it , probably wont be pretty but will be sharp . be intresting to see what you think of it . all the best , matt
  15. sorry i just read that and came acros like a bloody tit . simple answer . carbons steels (non stainles) o1 w2 w1 (all files are made of this ) d2 they are all well trusted /tested blade quality and above ! stainles rw34 s12 24c vg10 and so on there all very high spec steels with equivelent price tags and for the super rich , you have damasteel which is stainles damascus steel made from the leading steels in the pwder steel group (iv got some of it ha ha ) all the best , matt
  16. wow thats a hard question to answer !! i think the best way to look at it is to look more at the heat treating and tempering , very fine edge (sharp) and edge retention (how long it lasts ) are assosiated with harder heat treating and tempering , tool steels . o1 o2 d2 w2 w1 . there all high carbon and allow you lots of controll when you temper the blade , that can allow you to add spring temper to one area and super hard temper for say the cutting edge . for heavy use out in the feilds you are gonna strugle to beat o1 and the other tool steels like w2 (thats what the above are ). in my opin
  17. lads because of the new equipment i can change these about a bit for you with in reason . i can shorten them what ever , i could do with hem gone so i can buy the next lot of steel really !
  18. sold thank you guys hello again this one i forged from my own damascus , its all parts of other billets making it "scrap damascus" so there is maybe 4 patterns all welded into one . as you can see from the pics it has 3 ways you can hold it but the one in the knuckle hold might get you in trouble . its small enough to be every day legal carry knife . that you can wear on your belt or if you put a paracord loop through the belt loop could be carried as a neck knife . both edges are sharp and has a lanyard hole for if you need it . its a hand made sheath made by me ! from very thick and q
