  1. A few bunnies and still time for a pint, sounds good to me. Have you any ideas why the hob wouldnt go to ground?
  2. A decent haul of rats. Theres some fair sized rats there especially the one on the front row to the left. Were you just using the spade or did you use a smoker?
  3. The trap is 23" long x 7" wide x 6" tall and made from 1"x1/2"mesh. I'll try the sand and smaller wire - cheers moxy. Has anyone else had the same problem?
  4. I have a mink cage trap set on a stretch of river that I have permission on, I set it under a leaning tree with roots hiding the trap baited with half a salmon head. Theres plenty of interest but from the wrong species. The trap is being set off every night with the salmon head being moved and nothing to show. I am thinking its maybe a weasel, as theres no signs of rats and the gaps are quite small. So... has anyone else had this problem and is there anything that I can do to deter them. Any other ideas on what it could be? I was thinking as Ive said a weasel but is there any chance t
  5. Its never happened to me, but I keep my hobs seperate apart from when they are in the run together during any decent weather in the winter. I have only heard of this once before (apart from jills with kits), a friend of mine had a jill and her son together and he found her half eaten then soon after he found the hob dead. I suppose as said before there may have been a weakness or illness that we cant see but they can see / sense.
  6. Thanks for the advice. Ive bought the raider - for less than has been said and it has a nice silencer, fleece lined gun bag, a tasco scope and is in mint condition (i cant find a mark on it.) I have been undecided about it for a couple of weeks but just wanted to hear peoples opinions. Cheers Danny
  7. Hi all, A friend of mine is selling his air rifle and I am quite interested in it. I have looked on the web and found out a bit about it but would just like some opinions on it. It is a Webley Raider single shot, with silencer, scope and gun bag. How much do you think it is worth aswell - in mint condition? Cheers Danny.
  8. Could they have come into contact with a doe rat with young or just an angry rat! If it was a fox i would have thought there would be a bite mark on the ferrets-unless they were lucky.
  9. The gestation is around six weeks, if I remember rightly. When is she due? In the last week they tend to sleep more than normal, also depending on the set up you have in the bedding area she should make a nest normally close to giving birth. The nest will be just like what she normally makes but with a fur lining that she will pull out. Ive had ferrets that you could hardly tell that they were pregnant, only time will tell for you. If your still not sure I would make sure she is on her own and has plenty of bedding material (I use straw), and left to her own devices. Hope this helps a bit
  10. Looking through some of the posts ive seen plenty of nice looking bull crosses, and I just wondered if theres many bull crosses with collie in them? Does anyone keep them, what are they like? I would think that say a bull, greyhound X collie, grehound would be a useful dog. Cheers Danny
  11. Feed mine mainly dried food with the odd rabbit but a slug-not yet anyway.
  12. Nice looking pups. Bet they make some right noise.
  13. Shes a first cross collie greyhound.
  14. Some nice dogs. Hows your dog bred 'foxlamper'? Looks like she could have a twin...heres mine...
  15. Had our 2 jills speyed today-1st time ive had ferrets speyed. £110 for both-is that usual price? Is there anything i need to look out for? They both seem to be ok, a little slower than normal but thats not suprising. Both ate and theyve got plenty of fresh water and bedding. Thanks Danny.
  16. Does anyone know any vets in sheffield or rotherham area that will dock terrier pups? Our local vet that we use won't dock tails anymore. Any help much appreciated.
  17. I asked the same question to some one at the weekend. He has bred lurchers and terriers for years and he says to use a red light because it doesn't strain the pups eyes as much. He uses finely shredded newspaper as bedding for pups, so that they cant be covered with full sheets of paper which would block the heat.
  18. Kentucky fried rabbit (KFR). Last time i ate rabbit i cut meat off back legs (rest to ferrets), fried it then added red wine, gravy and corn flour. Bit of mash and veg-mmm might have to do it again soon. Not saying im a chef, just like messing about. As they say with the cream eggs- HOW DO YOU EAT YOURS?
  19. Bunnies seem to get hit by mixy around us every year, just as the weather starts to pick up like clockwork. Pet rabbits can have a vaccine for mixy cant they? Not saying we should try and vaccinated all the wild bunnies though . Its sickening when you start seeing the mixy rabbits, what do people do with the mixy rabbits? I use to give them my ferrets but to be honest i havent given them a mixy rabbit for quite some time-the thought of it more than anything.
  20. It makes me sick, people taking dogs like their nothing. People putting their heart into somthing for some tit to just take it away. Sorry to hear about it, but with everyone on the look out i hope you get the dog back.
  21. Yeah she likes ferrets, even willing to let kits have a bit of a nip at her while they play fight with her.
  22. Looks spot on. Whats it work like, and what its like obidience wise?
  23. Thought id put some pics up of my lurcher, shes a 1st cross collie greyhound. Dam was a coursing greyhound and sire was a working collie.
