  1. i once went out sea fishing while in mexico, myself and another guy were taking turns to fish,i had caught a couple of barracuda, when he hopped in for a turn, and hooked a marlin, not a big one but big enough,so i like to think i was at least close to hooking one
  2. Skinny rat cracked one saying they should come with a free cage, thats all it was supposed to be pal,a bit of craic,i didnt realise it would cause you sleepless nights and i didnt say it should come with a cage,i just asked if it did, anyway as i say no offence was intended Skinnyrat
  3. id have to go 3 times to get 73 ,thats a good bag
  4. good luck for the future with the pup :thumbs-up:
  5. all the best with the pup,if my circumstances had of been different,i would have liked to have tried one of those bad boys myself
  6. i think bertie is asking for a friend as he doesnt live anywhere near lancashire
  7. yesterday morning my 7 month old pup,put her paw on the central locking, locking herself in and me out,i had to smash the window to get in :11: ,then at dinnertime my exhaust snapped, another £76 touch, then at teatime i put my back out,all in all not my best day
  8. ive noticed a few more when ive been walking the dogs, but mixy has just arrived and will no doubt thin them out a little
  9. i dont think catching 70 in a night, with one dog, should be called easy,i would imagine that its the exception rather than the rule, calling it easy imo sends out the wrong message to the younger members, who may end up blowing thier dogs trying to match these numbers,i have no doubt that its possible, personally ive never seen a dog come close, maby thats because ive always tended to keep myself to myself, and havnt seen the amount of dogs run that a lot of you lads have.
  10. any dog that can take 70 rabbits is some dog, imo,i know ive never came anywhere near it
  11. got to agree with hairyface, its sound advice
  12. adam, i wouldnt worry too much about the breeding,as theres more than a few lurchers, including my own, that are sold as something they arnt, all that matters is weather you are happy with it or not,and half the people on here dont know for sure whats in their dog,if it does what u tell it ,and can catch enough to make you happy, thats all that matters
  13. I was wondering about its size and weight, where did you get the 23 1/2 from? i got the 23 1/2 inches from the thread title
  14. right about here i,ve never had any problem,s with me lurchers if they chased the odd rabbit while growing up, they have all turned out cracking rabbiting dog,s, and mine used to be all rounder,s , great on rabbit , kill foxes in a split second, draw foxes from dig,s im not the one calling people idiots tommy, everyone has the right to do what they think is best for thier own dog,but i dont think many people will see any benefits in letting a 5 month old pup chase rabbits, and if someone is calling you an idiot, its only fair you have your say,i have no problem with savage,he has always seemed
  15. nice looking dog pal,but if its only 23 1\2 inches,i doubt if its a deerhound greyX,but that said theres good and bad in all crosses, all that matters is that your happy with it,and it does as you want, good luck for the future
  16. the thick ones, wouldnt be letting there dog chase anything it doesnt have a hope of catching, would they?but as you have said ,all your lurchers have been first class, killing foxes in seconds etc,and i cant say the same about all of mine,so maby your on to something in overmatching your pups, maby its where ive been going wrong looking for an all rounder
  17. a picture of him having a scat,how cute^^
  18. stevesel, your probally giving the dog too much bone to meat ratio, chicken carcass is mostly bone, and dont forget a little offal, too much of which can make a dog loose
  19. hope your new dog all you ask lucky
  20. the pups to young pal,let it grow,it doesnt do any good for your pup to chase things that its not gonna catch, you need to build confidence, not shatter it
