  1. i was down wenslydale today and had a couple of milky does,and even a couple of young drummers,from sets a good way apart,and i spent more time waiting than i would have liked, for ferrets that were probally eating a few
  2. he will be ready for next september,in the mean time get it ok with basic training retrieving etc,and get it used to sheep etc,good luck for the future pal

  4. hunting season,or are you a all year round hunter,happy to kill things when they heavy in young,some people,at the request of farmers,have to ,but anyone else who runs stuff all year round is scum
  5. its comming to the end of the season soon,you would probally be better to wait till the start of next season,its probally not what you wanted to hear,spend the time on obediance training,retrieving etc,good luck for the future

  7. i bought a generation 1 a couple o years ago,but its crap,i tried it once and its been in the box ever since,i keep meaning to put it on ebay,if you get a generation 3 ,this will be ok i think,i havnt seen one,but they were 1000 a touch a couple o years back,the one i got was about 200-300,and i was most disapointed,i strongly advise you not to jump straight in and get one(which obviously you arnt doing as your asking for advise) some of the lads may have had better experiences with them,im sure they will share them, good hunting SkinnyRat
  8. an undershot jaw isnt gonna win any shows,but it wont affect his hunting ability,i myself have a patterdale thats slightly undershot,its not desirable and its probally best not to breed from it,as theres enough sound dogs about,good luck with it for the future

  13. the bitch is about 23 inches a reddy brown type color solidly built,not racey,but as pups were 2 weeks when i viewed them,its hard to get a proper look,its has a broad head,not bully type more collie type,i will be going for another look in a week,so ill ask some more questions they as to where he got it from,thanks nellie
  14. does anyone know a guy called sean patterson from the north east?,im picking up a pup from him in a couple of weeks,its supposed to be from a minshaw bitch x a merlin eve dog,
  15. critters dont see in color,only black and white,that includes your dog, so using a filter to change the white light to a color doesnt spook the game as much,but if they have been lamped a few times with a filter they soon start running when you put the filtered light on them,maby if you changed from red to amber this may help,but as you say they arnt cheap,and i only have a red good hunting Skinnyrat
  16. he also mentions ,that what the modern match lads have recreated is the same as what lord orford did in the 1700's to the greyhound,well orford introduced old type bulldog blood into the grey not saluki,i think the old strains like norfolk have died out years ago,some people may say they have norfolk etc,but i think they just of norfolk type ,ie long rough coat,and not the real old stuff.that guy also charges 300 quid a pup,hes just trying to make money of the romantic images of the past
