  2. I was on the A7 yesterday carlisle to galashiels... looks cracking countryside but i didnt spot any wildlife... i travel that route twice a month for work.... iv drove it at most hours between sunset and sunrise and i aint ever yet seen a single deer.... but im sure there not too far away it looks great ground for roe.... possibly a sika or two knocking around?
  3. Dont get me wrong chaps i love a good set of headgear... Doe's hold no value to me except a lump of meat.... BUT i will be honest and admit it. Was just curious as to weather there was a reason behind anybody else's buck fever? Foxdroper, is it safe to assume that yourself and Caprelous do not see eye to eye
  4. The distribution map shows there is muntjac in the cumbria area.... i know plenty of lads lamp all round cumbria and they have not seen munty, and nor have i. Obviously that doesnt mean that they are not there, but i rrally doubt it
  5. No not at all mate. I can usually keep track of the where the dogs are because im not far behind them in the motor. I always have some senses about me , and can spot a vehicles headlights no probs, some say im over-cautious when it comes to spotting other motors. and i can always hear a farmers dog when we inadvertantly get a bit too close for comfort, which happened twice in one night last season
  6. dont mean to sound rude here but when im lamping, im lamping. If i wanted to do a nature trail (see smell hear) id do it another time You talk of becoming invisible i can only assume that you mean sneaking off if your poaching. I can only speculate here because i dont poach. But if i needed ti get away i would much rather take my chances in a motor than on foot. Your fecking nose is growing Cheers, D. that is just slander
  7. they dont get them out up here either. I understand though that they do in some counties

  9. Yeah diezel can be a fortune. So can the maintenance of a landrover. But it doesnt bother me... people pay hundreds if not thousands a year to watch football matches.
  10. have you ever tried it?I have yes but I could see my dog gaining weight and getting lazy so I decided to walk again to get her fitness back up
  11. Please try and keep on the subject lads
  12. Good stuff ausnick. i juat tried to do a video when out before.... well it didnt turn out very well
  13. Yeah; throw your dog out the window when you are doing around 40-50 mph; rabbits can't run that fast, so you'll catch every one !!! thats a good idea that mate i never thought of that
  14. I agree. But the exactly same topic not 3 days got pages worth then deleted come on ffs tiny i never seen the topoc 3 days ago?
  15. Also for the daytime 'exercise' i very rarely actually walk them. I find a queit back road. Chuck them out the motor and 'trot' them along the motor. In fact ive juat came in from doing so. Except in the summer. All my dogs are brought up around the motor..
  16. I walk and i drive. some nights ill walk all night some nights ill only get out the motor to open gates and take rabbits off dogs. some nights ill drive the roads and walk the fields that have rabbits in
  17. Please juat keept it to 4x4 lamping... no bitching Hard digging some lads i know who 4x4 lamp are much fitter stronger and generally much less lazy then many lamping foot soldiers
  18. sorry, i missed this one. that seems to be the general thought of the 4x4 lads.
  19. have you heard of somebody running their dog over?My lil whippet cross bitch ran into a landy at full speed. Landy was completely stationary but rabbit headed for it, she broke her neck in 3 places and her mouth was a right mess rabbits can be a real nuisance when near the motor
  20. nasty. I know it will probably occur. I heard of a lad round here that done it... the dog and quarry went through a gateway and he followed full bore, dog must of loat its game and was coming back when it met the 4track in the gateway
  21. have you heard of somebody running their dog over?
  22. Is there any advantages/disadvantages of lamping out a 4x4? Is it true that lads throw the dogs out the windows/doors whilst at speed in pursuit of their quarry? Is it lazyness or are these lads seeing more rabbits than the lads who walk? just curious
